Publisher's summary

Return to New York Times best-selling author Anne Bishop’s "phenomenal" (Urban Fantasy Investigations) world of the Others - where supernatural entities and humans struggle to co-exist, and one woman has begun to change all the rules.…

After winning the trust of the terra indigene residing in the Lakeside Courtyard, Meg Corbyn has had trouble figuring out what it means to live among them. As a human, Meg should be barely tolerated prey, but her abilities as a cassandra sangue make her something more.

The appearance of two addictive drugs has sparked violence between the humans and the Others, resulting in the murder of both species in nearby cities. So when Meg has a dream about blood and black feathers in the snow, Simon Wolfgard - Lakeside’s shape-shifting leader - wonders if their blood prophet dreamed of a past attack or a future threat.

As the urge to speak prophecies strikes Meg more frequently, trouble finds its way inside the Courtyard. Now, the Others and the handful of humans residing there must work together to stop the man bent on reclaiming their blood prophet - and stop the danger that threatens to destroy them all.

Keeps getting Better

It is a rare and wonderful thing to find yourself in a universe that wraps around your mind and won't let go. What an amazing series. Coming from a mental health background I am so impressed with what this author is doing.

Addictive series and excellent storyteller

This book is so well written. It truly captives the mind and creates a new world in my mind. I love this series and author.

I wonder how far the author will take the relationship between Meg and Simon.

Can't Wait For Book 3!!!

What did you love best about Murder of Crows?

It was an amazing sequel to Written in Red! The narrator is wonderful to listen to and I really appreciate when they keep the same narrator for a whole series as they become as much a part of the book as the characters!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Murder of Crows?

I honestly can't pin-point 1 moment! The whole book has me wanting more! Really can't wait for book 3!

Which character – as performed by Alexandra Harris – was your favorite?

I really enjoy her performance of all the characters but I love her Simon Wolfguard! There are many characters in this series and she does a great job with each one. When the Crows are speaking you can really envision a crow speaking!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I could really feel Meg's anxiety and Simon's irritation! You actually get the character's feeling for yourself. Anne Bishop does a magnificent job being descriptive without pages of descriptions. She gives you enough detail to paint your own vision of the people and places; which I LOVE in an author.

Any additional comments?

I enjoy listening to "paranormal" books but this was a fantastic take on the genre! I like how the basis of this book is not a sappy, predictable love story! Anne Bishop did a wonderful job with her characters again and I can't wait for Visions in Silver!! I have listened to a lot of books and have never (until right now) felt compelled to write a review; this book deserved one! Don't miss out on this fantastic series!!

Love this series!

The struggle to survive, the fight within, those who stand with us and those who are opposed. The support of a family not blood and the stand against the enemy who shouldn't be.

Imagine what life would have been like where the indigenous were able to fight back and dictate how things would proceed when the explorers came looking to settle the new world...

Good follow up

Characters continue to be strong and intriguing. Since I’ve read the first book the world building adds to the satisfying complexity of the plot. I shall purchase the next in the series. Highly recommended.

Watch out for shiny treasures.

Another great addition to the series. If you liked the first book this book is equally as good. We get to see Meg and Simon get closer and we get to see the bad guys get what is coming to them. Which is always satisfying. Man are humans stupid in this book, there are so many examples to give from Monte’s ex to the storekeepers who won’t serve the Others. I look forward to the next book to see how all the girls who where rescued and how they may adapt to the real world with Megs help. Narrator isn’t my favorite but after time she grows on you.
