I stopped believing in monsters long ago. But I knew I wasn't imagining things when I found one in my kitchen baking muffins. I'd seen him before: lurking in my closet, scaring the crap out of my five-year-old self. Turns out that was a misunderstanding, and now Maurice needs a place to stay. How could I say no? After all, I've always been a magnet for the emotionally needy, and not just in my work as a wedding planner. Being able to sense the feelings of others can be a major pain.

Uniquely Fascinating
Full of mystery and suspense, Mist gives a unique background to a paranormal story. In this book, Native American teens use their paranormal powers to help police solve crimes.
I loved the little glimpses of Native American history throughout the book, and the way that the author used them to help guide their story along. The characters were solid enough, and I found myself wishing to know more about them at the end of the book. The present tense writing style of the book helped to add more suspense and urgency to the situation that the characters faced.
This is definitely different from any paranormal book I’ve picked up before but I think it’s a good blend of different and suspenseful.
The narrator did a good job of bringing the story to life.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Something new!
From their base in North Florida, a close knit group of Native American teens use their paranormal gifts to help law enforcement find justice for victims of very unusual crimes. The story is excellent, especially if you prefer present tense accounts.
Catherine Wenglowski is a narrator I've not heard before, but is excellent in voice quality and interpretation.

Loved the storyline
I loved this story. It drew my attention right from the start.... but then I found my thoughts drifting off and had to go back to see what I missed. The characters were fascinating but hard for me to get to know because of the narration. I didn't feel this narrator fit with the story very well. I would much prefer her for a different type of book. (perhaps a cozy mystery or comedy?) I'm sure I will be listening to this book again because I know I missed a few things the first time. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.
