Publisher's Summary

Who says you can't go home again? Amy's fast paced New York City life is interrupted by her mother's illness. She returns home to Fenton, Missouri after many years to find her childhood home on fire and her aging mother in need of long-term care. It's more than she can handle, but with the help of her new found friends, she finds a life -- and love -- she wasn't expecting.

Parker is a self-made woman and owns her own carpentry business. She has had plenty of girlfriends in her life. The only problem is none of them seem to stick around for the long haul. Parker is tired of rejection and has reconciled her fate to being alone. Until the new girl in town hires her to renovate her burned house. Parker is torn between falling for Amy or guarding her heart and playing it safe. Heart to Heart is an emotionally charged novel that explores loss, friendship, and a love that is discovered where you least expect it. This is book one of the True Heart series.

Love this series

Once again Layce kills it. She is an amazing narrator. I read the series first but it so much better to listen to it for me. The characters come alive and you can really feel everything they go through. I can't wait for book 2-4 coming out next year In audio.
This is a must own for sure , check it out free with Kindle Unlimited

Speed up the narration for a better result

I want to add this review to offset some of the comments about the narration. I didn't like the sample, but the book was part of the romance package so I decided to try it anyway. I sped it up to 1.20 and it was totally different and much better! At that speed the story came to life instead of the dragging narration in the sample. The narrator is able to do many different voices which is great for a book with so many diverse characters. I read/listened to all 4 books in 2 days because they were so good. Take a risk. You won't regret it.

Funny, funny!!

I absolutely love these authors!! Their books are the funniest like rollercoaster rides...you just never know what you're going to get with these two. The story line was complex with many different facets. Though interesting, I especially liked the characters. They had so many little adorable, hilarious quirks that it made the book all around funny even though there were a number of jarring, emotional filled moments. The characters are what did it for me. Having listened to other books from the authors, i expected a much quirkier plot, but what the book lacked in plot, the characters surely made up for. Overall, enjoyable book and listen!!

HEART TO HEART

I listened to the audio novel while driving home and enjoyed this version very much. I had read the paperback version probably a Year to a Year and half ago but listening was a total different feel. I was able to feel the daughters pain because I had to deal with the same thing. The humor in the story was also very enjoyable and help get through the rough times.

Returning Home

Amy had made a life in New York City as a free lance writer but is called home to take care of her mother. Arriving to a fire that destroyed the kitchen she she sees her mother carried out by two fire fighters. Parker is the self made carpenter she hires to repair her home. As the lesbian community gathered around to help two hearts try to reach each other. A marvelous performance and great. Recommend.

Small town love...

I loved the characters in Saxon and Layce’s book, Heart to Heart. My favorite one was Parker, and her love for Amy. The best part of this audiobook was definitely the balcony scene, and second best, bingo. I could just picture tough, but sweet Steph with her partner Rosa, narrated in Layce’s deep midwestern country accent.

Performance problems

Performance is monotone, not very good. Quit listening. Might be a good story just don’t know.

I really liked this book!

I love stories without a contrived villain or otherwise strong lesbian characters who run away when it is time for an honest conversation. This story delivered a great story with realistic issues that the characters dealt with in the manner we all hope we would when facing the same or similar issues. A smooth and warm story. I am so glad I listened to it - and the fact that it was narrated by one of the authors was the cherry on top!!

Nice book

I loved the story, the characters, the setting. I loved everything. The health issues were expressed very carefully, with tact and very realistic. The budding love was tender and full of warmth. There were lots of laughing out loud moments and moments where you shed a tear or two. Layce Gardner did a fantastic work at least for me . So now is the next one 😉
