This was a thrilling read with some great spice! Phenomenal narration as well as just an enticing and captivating story!

Loved the story and the narration

Tijan is a fairly new author to me and that’s really surprising because of the rave reviews she gets from many of my friends, well after listening to Hockey With Benefits I promise I’m going to be checking out other works by this very talented author.
This is a journey about soulmates who can’t seem to get on the right page. It’s a journey that’s bumpy and full of twists and turns you don’t see coming and honestly at times I was holding my breath because I wasn’t convinced Mara and Cruz would ever make it work…….
Connor Crais and Desiree Ketchum did a fantastic job bringing this book to life. They were spot in with all the emotions that run through this entertaining and heartbreaking read/listen.
This book has all the feels, I loved Cruz but it took a bit of time for me to warm up to Mara but as I warmed up so I found myself cheering this couple on. I was captivated by this emotional yet entertaining journey and I’m sure you will be as well.

Loved the narration. The story. Everything. Desiree Ketchum does an amazing male voice. I'd pay for this re-release as a duet.

Heartfelt, angsty, relatable

To me, this is a perfect example of don’t judge a book by its cover. I have been eyeing this book for a long time, but kept thinking it was just a typical hockey romance with a hot guy on the cover. Boy was I wrong, this book was so much more than that. It was angsty, it was honest, it was sweet, caring, and brutally truthful at times but one thing I understood throughout is that Mara and Cruz truly cared for one another on a completely different level.
This story started off with Mara and Cruz being hook ups, not even friends just hook ups with their own life going on outside of their hook ups. Struggles between parents, siblings, friends, teachers, and true hard things to face outside of the college norm. We followed their relationship growing and forming a bond together that not everyone could understand, but truly respect. There was definitely a large friends group in this book and that could be hard to follow at times, but it really made this story what it was and how every one of those friends impacted Mara and Cruz.

This was my first book by Tijan and won’t be my last, I devoured it and only wish I started it sooner.
The Narrators absolutely nailed this, I haven’t listened to many Desiree Ketchum audiobooks but I will definitely be looking for others narrated by her. Connor Crais is one of my favorites and the two of them together brought this book life and gave me the full impact of every detail.

It’s okay, to not be ok

Tijan has become one of my favorite authors. Mara and Cruz have a deal about being “friends not friends in bed.” They both learn the no getting personal rule has gone out the window and a deeper understanding about mental health and family comes into play. Tijan did it again! Oh and I am also learning how she entertained characters from the OG Fallen Crest and Crew books.

It’s Always a heart pounding and emotional ride! This one as well as all of Tijan’s books was a roller coaster of greatness!!

My first Tijan novel and it was soooo good!

This book was unlike other sports romance novels in that there was an actual storyline and the characters had a lot of depth. Getting ready to download my second Tijan novel now!

I would buy this book again and again.

I cannot expound on how I ended up here. I have been through quite a few books in the past few weeks that I liked but didn't have me hooked to where I couldn't stop listening. I have read Tijan before but I am not a huge fan of sports themed romances. I prefer dark romances. However, I know the intense nature of Tijan's writing, saw Connor Crais and Desiree were narrating and went for it. O. My. God. It is so dang good. It is the type of book I want to read again and again. Cruz and Mara are so much together. I cannot express enough how amazing this book is. I wanted everything to happen the way it did. Just a genuinely good read. And even though it wasn't overrun with spice...Y'all the scenes are FULL of heat. Trust me. and the storyline only makes it better.
