I love these characters!

Oh man…this series grabbed me from the very beginning and kept me invested to the very end. I love Bri and Tanner as individual characters but I love them even more together. The banter between the two of them was fantastic and I love that they were constantly messing with each other but when it came down to it, they always had each other’s backs.

I think this may be my favorite group of side characters that I’ve ever read before. The group dynamics were fantastic and their antics were pure entertainment. This group is friendship goals all the way.

This series has so many ups and downs and twists and turns that it kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. And I swear each cliffhanger was worse than the last, not to mention the fact that book two’s cliffhanger is one of the worst that I have ever read. I’m so glad that I could listen to these audiobooks back to back because as soon as I finished one I would start the next.

Theo Sinclair and Maeve York were fabulous narrators for this series. They did such great job of not only bringing the main characters to life but the side characters as well. The depth and emotion that they brought to the characters made the story even better and made me more invested in the characters and the books.

This was the first series that I’ve read by Sheridan Anne but it certainly won’t be the last!

Not bad....

Narration wasn't the greatest, should've been duet style. Some characters got on my nerves & were unbearable: Arizona (Ari) so annoying. Hudson & Addison-irritating, and sometimes Bre-meddlesome. The dad/Tristan got off way to easy. He should've been prosecuted for impregnating a minor. And he should've been taken to the "cleaners" & humiliated for his betrayal of his original family, not to mention trying to pin everything on his son...snake. And he should be forced to care for his new family & illegitimate son with what he has left. Otherwise, good HEA.

Yowzers

Yowzers...there is sooooo much in this book. I was honestly not sure how this book would go for me because high school stories can be hit or miss on me, but am I glad I took a chance on this one because I was utterly riveted by it. I am also very glad I listened to the boxset because if I had to deal with the cliffhangers before the next book I would have been too upset. These kids have so much going on and I found myself so anxious to know what would happen in some instances, if I was correct in my theory in others (yes I was !), and just plain waiting for the next shoe to drop. I read a lot of romantic suspense and this book had me feeling all the anxiety and desperation to know what was going to happen I usually feel during the high octane battle scenes, etc in those. Tanner and Brielle are on fire. I love their connection- "You lean, I lean"--sigh. That has become one of my favorite quotes from books and it is so simple yet encompasses so much if you've read this book. These two may be young but they definitely take being each other's ride or die to heart, as the whole friend group does really. I loved that we saw the other friends get their HEAs in the peripheral as well. There are twists and turns and heart stopping moments galore to keep on the edge of your seat. Mind the trigger warning though because definitely some tough topics. The narrator was awesome.

Twisted and Fun!

I am so glad that this was a complete series because the cliff hangers would have wrecked me. I really enjoyed this series. I don't think I've read anything by this author before, but I think if she enjoys cliffhangers, I'll try to be sure the whole series is out or it's a box set. I felt like even though this was set with these being high school students that at times it felt like they should have been older. Overall, I enjoyed it and the way the villains were served justice! Theo Sinclair and Maeve York did a great job with this set.

Juicy, addictive series, bad--- female lead!!

Book 1: Bradford Bastard

This book gripped me right off the bat. It may feature high-school kids, but they’re dealing with adult issues. They also tend to have either too much money or not enough money—both of which will make a kid group up fast, so they’re mature and it’s plausible.

Anne did a great job of working in plenty of teenage banter and make it sound legit, without boring this much-older reader. It was cute, and even made me laugh-out-loud at times. One thing I really liked was, when there was a bit of bullying, it did not show the same old tactics that I feel like I read in a ton of bully-trope book lately—it had some originality. < That’s super hard to find!

⚖️ Violence.
🏫 A frustrating lack of justice—which I think will make later events in this series very satisfying.


This was a one-sitting listen for me, since I was so invested.

Perfect sound quality.
Smooth voices.
Dual cast.
Performance instead of bot-like reciting.

4 stars for the read.
5 stars for the audio.

Book 2: Bradford Brawler

Anne delivers another character who progressively gets stronger and stronger, out of need, as her world continues to implode, like only she can. She will have you believing, 100%, that her 17-year-old girls absolutely can pull off all that they do, as a result of what their environment has put them through, as they find their means to survival. It’s magical.

🔪 Mean girls.
⚖️ Betrayal / back-stabbing.

⚖️ Lots of teen drama.
🔪 Group scenes.
⚖️ Pranks.
🔪 Lots of steamy scenes w/ various kinks addressed and/or discussed.

Honestly … so much more but I was too deep in to write them all down.


I’m … much older than the leads in this story and reading about kids isn’t usually my jam. Regardless of their ages though, these leads contend with real issues and receive just the right amount of help from the adults in their lives, if any.

Anne develops all characters brilliantly, supporting their various maturity levels with their backstories and situations. It works and I don’t really feel like I’m ‘reading about kids’. There’s just so much action, danger, violence, suspense, drama, legal woes, and so much more to get lost in. And all the fun, current pop-culture references only add to it, and add to the ‘realness’ feeling.

Expertly woven, as always. And that ending!!!! I expect Anne’s books to end a certain way, but even still, this one was INTENSE. I’ll just be here, dying for the next one …

Book 3: Bradford Butcher

I’ve been completely addicted to this trilogy since page one of book one and that never wavered. During this installment, I was definitely repeatedly reminded that the leads are high school kids, as this one packs in a lot more teenage drama … however that’s mixed in with the very adult problems this crew seem perpetually subjected to. I expect you’ll still find it pretty juicy, regardless of your age range.

Brielle has always been a very strong lead and we see her grow stronger still in this book—in fact, quite a few of the mains and secondaries experience growth—as their circumstances pretty much demand.

🏈 Extortion.
⚖️ Rivalries—both on and off the football field.
🏈 Lots of high school parties.
⚖️ Sooo so many secrets, lies, scandals.
🏈 Corruption.

It was a fun and satisfying conclusion—overall: 4 stars.

My favorite of Sheridan Anne

This is the second time for me to listen to these audiobooks. Being able to listen in ONE audiobook was perfection!! No waiting after those brutal cliffhangers!

I have read several books written by Sheridan Anne and this series is my favorite. She is an excellent author who writes well with engaging storylines and complex characters. I was completely immersed into this audiobook. I was so glad to be on a trip so I had few interruptions! Originally, I kept guessing and missing and was surprised we found out certain information so quickly. I loved the twists and turns that I never saw coming. I was glued to the audiobook, once again, not wanting to pause it when needed. Such an emotional story. An excellent story and sweet HEA.

The narrators were perfection! They performed with so much emotion that it rolled like a movie in my head. They have excellent voices that were easy to listen to for long periods of time.

Lawd have mercy

I went into this series not knowing what to expect. I'm older so not so much into the High School bully romance. But let me tell you I was not expecting what I got. There is a little of everything in this book. I was on the edge of my seat gasping a few times with this one. I was truly surprised and very pleased with this. Highly recommend.

Captivating from the start

I absolutely love this series! I was addicted from the start! Intense and perfect… I can’t wait to listen to more from this author!

Good

I liked this series. From the beginning it had me invested and I couldn’t get enough of it. I also liked most of the themes in this one! Overall it was a pretty good series and I’d recommend it.
