Resumen del Editor

Who in Calmhaven does not know Molly Gertrude Grey, the gentle aging owner of the Cozy Bridal Agency? But Molly and her enthusiastic assistant Dora Brightside have more talents than just matchmaking. They are amateur sleuths with a nose for a great mystery.

If you like light, clean cozy mysteries with a cat-loving sleuth, quirky characters, and unexpected surprises you will love this bumper bargain collection of Christian cozy mysteries. No cliffhangers, swearing, gore or graphic scenes. Just good, clean cozy fun that will keep you guessing until the end.

This audiobook features all six books:

Wedding Cake Wipe Out

When poor Abe Mortimer, the town mayor, keels over during the wedding reception of his dear daughter, Miss Molly is certain it’s no accident.

Seedy characters on the scene, old ghosts from a shady past, and a grasping son-in-law with ulterior motives lead Molly into the crosshairs of Calmhaven’s most frightening conspiracy.

The clues pile up, but the culprit remains at large! Will Molly and her assistant Dora be able to solve the case before Abe Mortimer ends up in the mortuary?

The Bridal Dress Disaster

Michelle and Brian seem to be the perfect match, until an unexpected break-in leaves them reeling and thrown headlong into a mystery.

Who would target a couple’s happiness only days before they tie the knot?

Obstructive friends, competitive dressmakers, broken windows and broken promises. Can Molly and her assistant, Dora, uncover the culprit and save the big day?

A Fishy Murder Most Foul

When wealthy tycoon, Albert Gravel, lifeless and blue-faced on the floor after eating The Crystal Grill Restaurant’s fish special, Molly sniffs something fishy at play.

Followed by an eager reporter looking for a scoop, the Gravel case quickly uncovers Calmhaven’s dark underbelly! Sheriff JJ Barnes sees it as a cut-and-dried case - the owner of the Grill had plenty reason to want Gravel out of his way.

Molly thinks otherwise, and together with her enthusiastic assistant Dora, is determined to get to the bottom of this decidedly smelly case. Can she do so before an innocent man goes to jail?

The Mystery of the Missing Bride

Bernard Bloomsteyn, the wealthy owner of Greenacre Manor, the most prestigious mansion of Calmhaven, is about to say his vows to Deborah Smythe, a lonely widow of means.

But not all that glitters is gold, and not all who decide to tie the knot are as sincere as they claim to be. Several days before the wedding, Deborah Smythe, the lovely bride, goes missing, and nobody knows what happened to her.

Did Deborah get a dose cold feet or run because of some unknown fear? Is there a more sinister reason for her disappearance?

Missing Cash and the Corpse in a Cabin

Molly has earned a reputation for her work as an amateur sleuth, but are you familiar how Miss Molly Gertrude's adventures began?

On the fateful day that Molly Gertrude arrived in Calmhaven, it appeared that the benevolent philanthropist Samuel Given slipped and hit his head.

Sheriff JJ Barnes is convinced it is merely an accident and wants to close the case, but Molly Gertrude isn’t so sure and begins her own investigation. Molly Gertrude herself tells how she solved the mystery and became one of Calmhaven's most celebrated figures.

The Dead Man’s Stolen Book

Pastor Julian, the faithful shepherd of the flock, fears that a terrible storm is brewing, as traveling evangelist Sharlan Tan makes Calmhaven his next target for his message of peace and prosperity.

What happened to that valuable, antique, first edition of John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress handed to Julian by his dying friend? The book is gone, just as Sharlan Tan arrives in town.

Will Molly be able expose Sharlan Tan before all of Calmhaven comes under his spell?

Good overall story

The narration wasn't very good, or the writing wasn't good I wasn't sure, but no one talks like it was written. Overall the story line was uplifting.

Great story very poor narration- sorry

I didn't like the the narrators sing-#songy voice. I tried to hang in there because the story was so good and I love the characters especially Miss Gray. and since I'm a Christian I wanted to support the efforts to provide good quality clean media. but I just couldn't stand it anymore I got halfway through the first story. I was hoping that it would get better but it never did. I'm wondering if you could learn something from listening to Barbara rosenblatt Read Mrs Polllifax? also it would be good to not use The same sentence structure over and over. like if you've said Miss Gray blah blah blah then you don't need to repeat her name again for like a page or two you can use the erudite detective or the experienced clever Miss Gray or just not starting a very sentence the same way and use her name over and over. does this make sense? I'm sure that I could do a better job myself narrating it and that's very frustrating. I'm going to return it.

Narration Ruins This Series

The stories are easy, short stories if you want something on the light side. I found myself listening to a few at a time in between other books. I very much appreciate the Christian content, the lack of fowl language, and the fact that mysteries are being solved without death in every single story in the same town. So there are a lot of positive attributes to the authors writing of a cozy mystery series. However, I don't think the narrator is horrible, but there are character voices she should not use. There are too many characters for her range. I would have enjoyed this series a lot more if it had been a better narrator. For this reason I doubt I would listen to it again, and I won't be purchasing anymore with the same narrator.

Needs a new editor

Good plots, but sounds like it was written for children. Also, too much lip smacking!

awful narrator

as always a great set of Donna Doyle books but it was really hard to keep track sometimes because of the bad narrator. Not sure whether it was just flat sounding or what but it was hard to listen to. There really wasn't much emotion from the narrator which is a shame because the books are really well written.

Exceptional Narrator

These stories are very good. They all follow a formula but that's not a problem and helps you play along once you've heard a couple of the books in the series. There's always a red herring or two thrown in also. My favorite was book #6 The Dead Man's Stolen Book. The mystery involved a missing book not a murder. The amateur sleuths are a 70ish (maybe 80ish) woman (Molly Gertrude Grey) who runs a wedding planning business and her sidekick Dora. What makes this audio version especially great is the narrator who adapts different voices for each character and the voice of Molly is especially fitting as it sounds exactly like you would imagine a calm senior woman to sound like as she goes around casually asking questions and obtaining answers that lead to the resolution of the mysteries. Another charming thing about the book is the names that the author uses for the characters and places in the book - Calmhaven for instance and a name very close to Charlatan for one of the bad guys who is well a Charlatan. All in all a fun series.
