Publisher's Summary

He taught me to kill. Murder is in my blood now. It runs through my veins and though I hide the monster I see in the mirror with ink, it doesn't keep him from coming out.

My street name is Mercy, but I never show any. Except for her. I watch Becca, though she doesn't know. She saved me a long time ago; the day my father killed my mother. Her bravery turned her into a target.

My father holds a grudge and knife with the same proficiency, and Becca is the focus of his hatred. And I'm the only monster who can save her.

Love and ink

I absolutely loved this audio. Not only did it have great character development but it had raw, true, obsessive love, and desire that make me want to scream for mercy. This has a powerful story that had me tearing up in parts and kept me hooked the whole entire time. I would definitely recommend this audio. Both of the narrators did a fantastic job of conveying the emotions of the characters perfectly. Hot, steamy, heart breaking, panty melting. I can't say enough!

Great story but wasnt proofed right

I love the story, it’s a little dark and the hero isnt clean cut - full of flaws which I think just made him human and lovable. The heroine is nothing really special but that doesnt matter cause she is special to the hero. The supporting characters are written well too.

Zachary’s performance was pretty good! Muffy’s was good but she was too breathy/nasally. At one point, it was annoying to hear her breath at the end of every sentence. A great performance combined - the right emotions were there!

I only gave an overall 4 stars cause of the editing - it wasnt clean. A few repeats and there was one instance where one chapter started and stop in the middle and another chapter started and then the previous chapter came on again. It was confusing for a bit. I hope it will be fixed.

A true journey

All it took was a moment for Becca and Fenix's lives to change forever. Becca shows Fenix what it is like to be stood up for and Fenix now spends his life standing up for those that need it the most. Under the guise of a tattoo'd mask, Fenix hides in the shadows keeping his people safe until the perfect opportunity comes to reintroduce himself to Becca. Will she remember that moment that changed his life forever? Will Fenix's underworld life catch up with him?

This book is a true journey. From start to finish I felt like I was right along there with the characters, experiencing everything they were. This left me crying, gasping, laughing, tingling, biting my nails and by the end... truly and utterly happy. I found the plot to be very thorough, not leaving me guessing on any holes. The characters were described with such detail that I would be able to spot them on the street and not just because Fenix has a full facial skeleton tattoo. I felt as though Debra Anastasia really worked this story thoroughly and put a lot of heart and soul into it.

Muffy and Jacob were the perfect choice for narrators. Jacob reading for this tough yet overly introverted and emotional character was just perfect. So believable that I feel bad for people who read the book because they will miss out on this amazing performance by Jacob. Muffy was great. She always is. There is no book that she can't read and excel at.

*I will say that there are some issues with the editing. I did turn those into the narrator and hopefully they will be fixed but you might wanna check before purchasing because an entire chapter is interrupted. I ended up purchasing the book so I could read the chapter that was missing.

The Darkness just outlines the Love

There are a lot of Dark elements to this novel; Child Abuse, Murder, Mafia elements, Child Abduction and self Mutilation and loathing. With that being said, this is one of the most touching stories of love I have ever read or listened to. I think that it is important that a reader approach this novel with the realization that the dark elements should not be focused on. The real story is about the light at the end of the tunnel of all that darkness. Have Kleenex ready.

A Dark Romance Done Right!

Now THIS is how dark romances should be done! We had suspense, tragedy, abuse, true love, obsession, heart ache, you name it and it was in there cranked up by 10. The emotions were so raw and powerful and real, that it was hard to not be overtly attached to the characters. Everyone was well rounded, with depth that we get hints at, but wouldn’t know more unless given their stories, and to be honest, I really want Animal’s story next. That to the side, this was a fun and great read about a scared little boy who meets a loud mouth little girl, is basically saved by her, and from that day forward, their lives are intertwined.

Gotta Love Mercy

This audiobook was addictive, I wish life didn't get in the way or otherwise I would of listened to it in one sitting. ;) .

I loved the chemistry between Nix and Becca, they were really hot together. I can't wait for Animal's story (Havoc), which is released in April, he was a great secondary character which just added so much to the story of Nix.

Muffy Newtown & Zachary Webber were brilliant at narrating this and added so much depth to the characters.
