Accompanied only by a runt of a pony and a scrap of a pup, he sets off to transport the royal message to its destination. No matter what it might take. But things are not always what they seem. Heroes are sometimes made of the strangest stuff, and love is to be found in the most unexpected places...if one doesn’t die while treading the lethal path.

Story
It’s been seven years since the end of the Naxid War. Sidelined for their unorthodox tactics by a rigid, tradition-bound military establishment, Captain Gareth Martinez and Captain Lady Sula are stewing in exile, frustrated and impatient to exercise the effective and lethal skills they were born to use in fighting the enemy. Yet after the ramshackle empire left by the Shaa conquerors is shaken by a series of hammer blows that threaten the foundations of the commonwealth, the result is a war no one planned, no one expected, and no one knows how to end.

Story
Aboard the Outward Bound, there are thousands of colonists headed towards Mars. But, one person on the ship is different. Inside that crew member’s head, there are a half-dozen voices, a half-dozen personalities normally bickering and disagreeing. Today, though, just as the ship is about to leave Earth’s orbit, they all agree on one thing - they have to kill to keep their secret safe. That’s dangerous for Rex Corvan, because secrets are the thing he was born to seek out.

Publisher's Summary
From acclaimed author William C. Dietz, a novel of Sam McCade, interstellar bounty hunter. This time it's personal - pirate Mustapha Pong has kidnapped McCade's daughter. Usually, McCade works for pay, but this time, the only reward is seeing his daughter alive - and he'll do anything to make that happen.

Any additional comments?
Im a bid WCD fan. I have listened to most of his books and i fallow him on FB to keep up with new releases. I read the first 3 in the series a long time ago. SO after being accustomed to his later works it was fun to go back to a sophomore series of his. It shows how he has become better at his art. So don't expect a Legion novel here. Its still a good story and the narrator does a fine job.

So glad I listened to these.
Do yourself a favor and follow this series from the beginning. The narrator had a little trouble with the first book, but was measurably better by the second, forward. The story is wonderful and keeps you going. I'm glad I could listen, as I wouldn't have gotten anything done if holding a book. My new favorite author and reader.
