The heart-wrenching follow-up to Bad Idea, a romance of star-crossed lovers in the city that never sleeps.

Six months ago, I gave my heart to a girl. Beautiful, kind, and sexy as sin, she's the only person who saw past my record or the color of my skin. Who ever saw me for me.

She loved me enough to let me go, let me leave this city to find my own path.
But without her, I drift, lost without direction. Without me, she spirals, desperate for connection.

I gave my heart to a girl, and she gave hers to me. But love shouldn't hurt this much.

Contains mature themes.

Absolutely love this book. Having been in an abusive relationship myself, Ms. French has capture the reality of what really can, and usually does, happen. Thank you for putting into words the guilt, confusion and hurt I could never quite explain to those around me. Thank you for pointing out how much we all need a hero in our lives and how, every now and again, it is the everyday characters that truly save us.

A true capture......

Truthfully, book 2 angered me with both of the main characters. Stupid decisions, immaturity and lack of communication really caused a lot of problems. I disliked Quinn, but I could also see getting tired of Leila‘s behavior and poor choices, especially when it came to Giancarlo. I know she was very young and hurt, but even those reasons are no excuse for some of the decisions she made. I like that it seems they’re finally getting on track at the end of this book. I’m looking forward to book 3 to see how this all wraps up. I have to say apart from the obvious… I love Nico! This guy is 🔥. Spicy scenes with Nico and Leila were super hot. Sex scenes with Giancarlo and Jesse were triggering for different reasons, but triggering nonetheless. I definitely recommend the series because it represents realistic characters full of flaws, like the rest of us. On to book 3 … 😊

Book 2 was hard

This was book 2, more about Laylas life in the big city. Nico’s life plays on here too but it’s more about hers and she’s a victim of abuse so be careful if this triggers you.. narrators voice for Nico is.. chefs kiss… I just got book 3 becuz why stop now…

Good story but…

I liked this story until the Juan Carlo angle, it didn't seem logical that Layla would be in that situation. I'm struggling to the end of this. The writer dropped the ball.

Annoying
