Good, as Jane-books usually are!
Probably one of her best, she needs to tone down the anti-Catholicism though, I’m not Catholic but even I am getting well and truly bothered by it. Jane’s reaction to saints seemed to willfully completely misunderstand the whole concept and turn it into some kind of glorification of horror.
I hate that Daniel is back as a lover, almost enough to remove a star, but the overall story (and Angela!) made it easy to overlook that plot. Though, sadly, again it makes me resent Maura. I fear the next book will be about her and that means it’ll probably be awful, only one or two Maura books are decent and Daniel tends not to be in those.
Either way, top notch mystery for this one. Great ending too. I enjoyed it!
