Publisher's summary
Learn to communicate effectively with your Spanish speaking help in just 5 hours!
Have you always wanted to learn Spanish but never found the time or the right teacher?
Are you having trouble communicating with your Spanish speaking help?
Did you study Spanish in school but find yourself unable to construct even simple sentences in Spanish?
This book is for homemakers in need of a Spanish beginners or refresher course.
Due to our unique method of teaching, you will be amazed at how much Spanish you will learn and retain in just five hours!
What makes this Spanish course special?
Efficient Learning
Our breakthrough method allows you to retain most if not all of what you learn and immediately put it to use. The key is interactivity: Instead of making you repeat words and sentences, you are encouraged to think and apply what you learned. Using the words and concepts you learn throughout the course, you will build Spanish sentences and translate Spanish sentences into English right from the start. The course also makes use of the many similarities between English and Spanish so you can associate new Spanish words with English words you already know.
Relevance
You'll learn relevant words and sentences that you can put to use immediately. This will allow you to reinforce what you've learned through real life practice and motivate you to complete the course.
Speed
This course only takes about five hours to complete. Many people buy expensive Spanish courses and never find the time to complete the course. But you should be able to find five hours. Even if you only study for half an hour each day, you'll be done in a little more than a week!
Fun
Learning should be fun and rewarding. It is hard to describe the pleasure you experience when you manage to construct complete sentences in Spanish after just half an hour into the course. In addition, the course is peppered with quotes and anecdotes, keeping the learning fun and exciting.

Story
Many horse trainers, even those who espouse the so-called natural horsemanship approach, take the position that horses who fail to obey a human's request are doing so as much out of perversity as ignorance. That's not Mark Rashid's view. In his words, "If we understand that horses can't separate the way they feel from the way they act, then we can start to see that unwanted behavior isn't bad behavior at all. More times than not, it's just the horse expressing the way he feels at that particular moment in time....

My Favourite Audible Purchase
If you could sum up Spanish for the Busy Housewife in three words, what would they be?
Fantastic, simple, intuitive.
What does Hadassah Davids bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
If you've tried to learn Spanish before, this audio is a fantastic way to help you to recall what you learned before. It teaches in a very simple and effective way. I found myself remembering Spanish words and grammar that I thought I'd forgotten years ago.My girlfriend has just started a degree in Spanish, and this simple audio is a great introduction for her, as it teaches exactly what you need to know and helps you to actually use the language rather than memorise it. It's already helped my girlfriend to better understand in a simple way some of the more complex teachings in her degree books.Highly recommended. Hopefully the author will publish more of these 5 hour Spanish courses in the near future.

Practical and Amazing
I honestly did not know what to expect when I bought this book. We have a Spanish speaking maid (from Guatemala) and two kids and I was having a really hard time giving her instructions or understanding what she was saying.
I searched for a Spanish book for homemakers on Amazon and stumbled upon this book. It's offered both as kindle and as audio book and I thought audio made more sense for me, as I can listen to it while working in the kitchen.
So I thought I'd buy this book and give it try.
Frankly, I'm blown away!! I never thought learning Spanish could be so easy!
After just one half hour into the course, I was already talking in Spanish and the maid seemed to understand everything I was saying.
It took longer for me to understand what the maid was saying, because she obviously uses a larger vocabulary, but as I progress more thru the course, I'm starting to understand more and more.
The course does not put too much emphasis on sounding like a native, only as far as is needed to be understood.
The best part is how each word is introduced in a way that makes it easy to remember.

Easier to learn Spanish than I thought it would be
Would you consider the audio edition of Spanish for the Busy Housewife to be better than the print version?

The fast track to Spanish for me!
If you could sum up Spanish for the Busy Housewife in three words, what would they be?
Efficient, Effective, Fun!
What does Hadassah Davids bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Her pleasant upbeat voice, her gentle prodding that it's easy to learn and master the rules, , and most of all her clear pronunciation of Spanish.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No, not an extreme reaction. I was pleasantly surprised that it was an easy and very doable tutorial.
Any additional comments?
I highly recommend this quick, effective and fun Spanish tutorial for every housewife who employs Spanish speaking household help. In just 5 days, by breaking up the sessions into a half hour each evening, you'll open up a whole new world of communication with your Spanish housekeeper. It will be especially useful when you need to communicate with your household help on the phone- when she's not with you and you can't gesticulate or point to yourself, or the object or area of your home that you're talking about.
And another perk--it feels so empowering to learn a new language!!

Wow! I learnt so much in so little time!
Where does Spanish for the Busy Housewife rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
From a practical perspective it's way up on top as it taught me so much practical Spanish language in relatively so short a time. I find myself able to communicate with my Spanish speaking housekeeper so much more effectively. I don't know who is more tickled...she or I!!
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the ease of presentation. The presenter was a pleasure to listen to. Her voice was clear and melodic and held my attention throughout.
Which scene was your favorite?
The chapter on greeting and showing concern was my favorite...I think my housekeeper really appreciated the fact that I could greet her and not just give directions...
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
"Desperate Housewives Learn Spanish"
Any additional comments?
I highly recommend this audio book for quick and lasting mastery of functional Spanish! Thank you David and Hadassah for a wonderful product and an enjoyable as well as practical experience!

Not good at languages??? not true!
Any additional comments?
I don't consider myself good at languages, but have always wanted to learn more Spanish living in New York. I tried this course and really enjoyed it. I like Hadassah's voice very much. She is encouraging all along the way. The pace is surprisingly fast but taught in a simple structured straight forward way that you feel empowered. She would ask me to translate and I couldn't believe I got it right. I like that the language taught is useful everyday phrases. I also have a Spanish cleaning lady. She was thrilled when I asked her to practice Spanish with me. She went to a lot of effort to learn English when she moved here and I think she appreciated my efforts to learn Spanish. I think everybody likes to hear their mother tongue, it makes them feel more comfortable. I like that I can learn another language and the best part was that it was fun and easy and quick. I wish more languages were taught in this style! Good job David!

Spanish on the Go
Would you consider the audio edition of Spanish for the Busy Housewife to be better than the print version?
Yes, the course comes to life in this audio version, its actually much better! I used it when jogging in the morning and it has a good rhythm, i was able to keep up for the most part without having to stop.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the authors idea to teach Spanish in a story format, the book is setup with scenes so that it all flows one word into the next, one sentence into the next. I thought the layout was good, but would like to see more time allotted for the listeners to respond, even though i can pause it myself if it goes to fast..
Which scene was your favorite?
The story where the Misses insisted the floor be cleaned with sopa, confusing soap with "sopa" which means soup, resulting in the kitchen floor being completely scrubbed with chicken soup!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Spanglish II, Lol
Any additional comments?
I found the book helpful in starting a conversation with my house help even though she was in stitches over my accent, but hey you cant have everything, right?!
