Silly and over the top

I’ve always liked the premise of “one person to save them all” but it didn’t work here.
Roland seems to be very childlike, not being able to make up his mind nor control his actions. I found him disrespectful and annoying.

“You can’t stop people from being pus***s.” – Malachi
“I guess you could call him that.” – Roland
Why is Roland practically agreeing with Malachi when he just slept with Lewis and was talking like he liked him before sleeping with Malachi?

If I didn’t know about Alphas, Betas and Omegas before this book I knew about them after. The words were overly used becoming redundant and annoying to constantly hear.
~Chapter 3 which is the shortest chapter (under 5 mins) felt like the only words being used where Alpha, Beta and Omega, and here’s why:
Alpha- 4 times used Beta- 16 times used Omega- 8 times used

At no point did I feel like Roland cared for either men, which is good as both Malachi and Lewis only seemed to want to use Roland for their own selfish gain of power. There were no emotions the entire story and there was way too much telling and not enough showing.

I think this story may have been a little better if I had read it instead of listened, as the narrator didn't help with how I perceived the story.

Good read

This is a good read with a "one omega who can save all" theme. Roland is an omega who arrives on Omegaverse Island and is instantly attracted to an old college friend, Lewis and then later to his ex boyfriend Malachi. He can't decide between them and now they all must work together to save everyone's future. It's an ok story with lots of sex amongst several people with very open relationships. The narrator didn't do much for the story and his character voices were just ok. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

An awesome and fun read

Well just with cover it did catch my attention, I like omegaverse stories a lot, however this is the first one I hear on audiobook and was so pleased.

The plot was pretty interesting and had some good twists and erotic scenes, it did had bone too.

Roland was pretty cute and very trickster I loved him a lot and his alfa males were super hot.

The narrator was pretty good , I did have to accustom myself to him since his voice was a little blunt, but it did convey the sentiment of the story.

the story was nice nothing more than that I didn't like the story I think it's just wasn't for me I do love mpreg books but I do like them complexed and complicated this book was I don't know how to explain it but I will say it wasn't for me the narrator didn't help a lot he was nice and all but I couldn't feel emotions again I think it was just me maybe others will love the book but I really didn't

When a disease takes over the world and kills many omega men some of the survivors make it to a special castle on an island that serves as a safe haven of sorts. Roland finds his way to the castle and is greeted by not one but two men from his past. He is attracted to both men but these two are the top alpha males and rivals. Can there ever be peace or will Roland have to pick only one man, leaving the other out? Only a miracle can save the omegas of this world and just maybe Roland can be a part of it.

This story has an interesting premise, but it could have been so much more. The main characters are strong at times, but they seem to be only two dimensional. We are never told anything about this disease other than that it spread and killed. We learn that the main characters are rivals but not what either one of the alphas wants to do for the people and why they are so opposed to each other. I did like seeing the relationship begin to grow between the three men, but it seemed that there was not a lot of talk or connecting going on except through sex with numerous people and much of that seemed over the top. It was nice to see Roland grow and think about others and help the alphas realize what was good for the pack. There were many things that pulled me out of the story as well. Things are repeated too often, and I found it silly that everyone wears only speedos all the time. The constant mentioning of quotes became annoying and the pointing out that only those who went to ivy league schools made up the upper tier of citizens was very degrading. Narrator Danny Cespedes moves the narrative along nicely and clearly keeping the listener involved in the story.

It was okay

This is a new to me author & narrator. I'm not sure what my true feelings about the book is. I liked the reasoning for Roland to head for the Island and I liked both Lewis & Malachi. I didn't like that reference to "omegaverse" constantly. The consistent getting hard at every turn and mention of what everyone looks like in speedos. They acted more like teenagers who are just discovering sex for the first time. And there is a lot of sex.

Interesting Story, I Really Enjoyed the Narrator

I've heard so many enticing things about this genre that when the chance to review an MPreg romance came up on Audiobook Boom I couldn't resist.

Kings by Wolfgang Glasscock has an interesting plot and I like the way the story unfolds. Roland is an omega, fleeing his home because a sexually transmitted disease is killing off all the omegas. Luckily he's immune so he's welcomed to Omegaverse Island.

As it dawns on Roland that he's not only welcomed, but revered, he takes advantage of his new status to try and unite the two factions of... (well, I was never sure what they are - humans?). This is the part of the story that really worked for me. Because Roland was a Philosophy major at Harvard University he sees the big picture here as it relates to the future of the world. Aside from adding in nice quotations from various philosophers throughout the book, the author also makes an interesting point about 'fate' and 'destiny'. Nicely done.

I did have a few questions which came up during Kings. I kept wondering how a Harvard grad could be so ditsy? It turns out that the trauma Roland suffered during his persecution at the outbreak of the Omega Virus, including his survivors' guilt, has really done a number on him. Roland is able to use this to everyone's advantage in the end and I loved that.

My biggest question never answered? How the heck could a straight omega male get pregnant? Other than artificial insemination I guess I give up. There are still boatloads of aspects of this genre that I'm confused about, but I'm sure each author approaches it differently and clearly that's part of the fun.

As far as the narrator, Danny Cespedes, is concerned, I did enjoy his performance. He kept it very entertaining. He didn't do very distinct voices for the main characters, but since this is a narrative from the point of view of the omega with relatively little dialogue, it works. 4 Stars to Mr. Cespedes for his enjoyable performance.

Some of the sex scenes were a bit over the top for me, and the Speedo uniform (and continual references to it) was a little silly. In the end it's clear that the author has fun with this genre and surely that's what it's all about, right?

Wild Ride

Great story. Smooth, assured narration by Cespedes. This is an audiobook you will listen to straight through.

It was a nice experience.

It was a nice audio. The story was great and I did loved the narrator's voice.
