Stellar, Stoic, & Stupendous

This covers a very similar timeframe and format to the Constant Princess by Philippa Gregory. This is a far more elegant explanation and description of events. I agreed entirely with the speculations of what could have happened. This was less gaudy than Gregory's attempt to describe a similar period.

A woman that could not be broken

Would you consider the audio edition of Katherine of Aragon, the True Queen to be better than the print version?

Yes I do. I was able to project my life through her eyes

I love this time in history to start with. Alison makes me feel at home with her characters.

good, enjoyable

I knew the story going into it. it was nice to hear it from Katherine's perspective. I have to say I got annoyed with her constant pining for her husband (though I'm sure it is accurate for the time). another solid book from Weir, I can't wait until she writes about the rest of the wives.

Great historical story

Allison Weir makes you feel as if you were in Henry VIII's court experiencing his glorious and world changing reign.

An excellent read on the story of this tragic, yet stoic queen.

Alison Weir does an excellent job once again in presenting a thorough and captivating story about this sad and tragic queen. She brought to life this very brave and great queen of Henry the 8th. I enjoyed the narration by Rosalyn Landor too!

Great Listen

Wonderfully written and read. Hard to take a break from listening. you can really get a feel for what Katherine went through.

Great historical story

In anything I’ve watched portraying the story of Catherine of Aragon she has always been made out to be a harsh person. This tale by Alison Weir from the perspective of Queen Catherine gives an entirely different view. After 25 years of marriage to Henry and the fact Catherine refused to deny her marriage to him as being illegitimate shows how much she did actually love Henry and she was fighting for what she felt was just. She also fought hard for her daughter. I truly felt for Catherine and what she went through and shed a tear or two as it was so sad how she ended her days. Such a well written tale and the narration of the story was very good and enjoyable to listen to.

A slow start but it gets better

A slow paced but beautiful book which perfectly balances fact and fiction in telling of one most infamous marriage.

Brought to life the extravagances, hardships, desires and fears of the era and people. A moving story from Katherine’s perspective.
