Nicely focused on Anne Boleyn

The story for the most part was interesting and included details typically not included in books that focus on all six wives. The narrator wasn’t bad, but, kept using a French accent for the Spanish ambassador. Which seemed a bit odd.

Great writing, unattractive narration

I really enjoyed the book. Alison Weir is a wonderful author, and a great storyteller. But I felt the novel’s performance fell short. The narrator had a poor cadence, and managed to speak too slow while also speaking too fast, so I lost a lot of what she was saying.

Great book, bad narration.

This narrator was not pleasant to listen to. Would not listen to any other titles with this person listed as narrator. The book was well written and I would have liked it more if the narrator wasn’t as grating.

I really liked the progression of information and the way the story was laid out. the narrator was impressive

great book and narration, but play it at 1.10 speed, otherwise, it sounds very distorted

very historical

although this was clearly a very well researched book,it was more like a text book. unfortunately, the way the author skipped around with the time frame was a bit hard to follow. it was very interesting though

Chapuys Spoke French

This book was quite enjoyable and delved into details that are often (understandably) missing in broader explorations of the fall of Anne Boleyn. I am frustrated by the comment that it was strange that the narrator used a French accent; anyone with any familiarity knows that Chapuys was the Imperial ambassador who’s native language was French.
