Dan Abnett Triumphs Again

It's hard to place exactly what makes this book so good because it really incorporates so many elements together in a neat package. The pacing keeps you listening, the fidelity to the technical details of the "vector aircraft" is believable and well thought out, of course the action sequences are extremely intense as you might expect from his previous title 'Double Eagle', overall I think the characters might be the strongest point in this. Abnett writes a whole cast of very unique and endearing characters to flesh out the "Circus 66" airbase. Several of the characters have a lot of depth and are still in my thoughts after completing the book. Overall, if you like high octane aerial battles with complex characters in an elaborately designed and fleshed out SciFi world, you'll love Interceptor City.

This is a super fun read. I loved this unique view of the aeronotica.

Massively enjoyable. Another masterpiece by the best duo in audiobooks. I absolutely love all of their work.

I love these characters and the plot! Easily this is my new favorite 40k book, maybe even favorite book in general.

enjoy it

I really enjoyed this book, I will say the first 2 hours or so feel slow but once you get to 66, it start to pick up, I ready woke reviews that said after the first 2 hours it's non stop action or something along those lines, to me that not true but there is part that the action is so good you don't want it to stop, but seriously after about 2 hours the story picks up and never stops even when they aren't in combat and are at 66 it still good, learning the culture of 66 and the story of some of the pilots is fun and interesting

Edge of your seat thrill ride

Excellent characters and story. Fast pace action sequences give a great thrill ride with a surprising pulse-pounding horror sequence in the middle. A must read

4-A Performance

I am a big fan of Abnett's work and have been since I first started reading the GG series almost twenty years ago. I consumed those books and many dozen other WH40k tomes since. While there are so many things mentioned in other reviews I could get into that this story and it's performance do right, my favorite element of this book and DA's work in general, is when he describes vehicular warfare, the marriage of machine and operator(s), with all the technical elements, unique dangers, and stresses that go with it. The titan skirmishes in Titanicus, the void warfare in Salvation's Reach, the tank battle in Necropolis, and of course the aerial battles in Double Eagle, are some of my favorite examples of his writing. This book greatly elevated those elements and more. There is a dirth of memorable characters including the different aircraft, but its The Shred that will stick with you. This book is fast-paced and fun but it's still 40k (bleak). Hoping this was part two of a trilogy.
