A great listen even for a warhammer 40K novice.

I've never read any Warhammer 40K books and have little knowledge of the universe but I ended up loving this book.

I was hesitant at the beginning thinking I wouldn't understand what was going on but the book delivers the listener just enough information to understand the universe without it being overwhelming, the story itself was far more interesting and rich than I initially thought and I got really involved with it by the end.

Great voice acting from the cast.

I would recommend this book to any who likes scf-fi.

Brilliant, just brilliant.

The narrator was brilliant and the writer is equally amazing. Can't wait to hear the entire series.

An excellent military science fiction novel

I've long been a fan of the Warhammer 40K universe for its bleak view of a future humanity forced to embrace the worst aspects of its own nature just to survive in an actively hostile universe. However I've always been very wary of the quality of any tie in fiction (in general, not just in this setting).

I had heard that this trilogy was different and am pleased to say this is an excellent work of military science fiction outright. The protagonist is well realized and managed to avoid being a caricature of themselves. The settings are varied, the original alien race satisfyingly non humanoid and the all important pacing keeps everything moving along nicely.

My favorite 40K story!

Warhammer 40K at its absolute finest.

I actually read the Eisenhorn Omnibus (trilogy sold as one book) about 8 years ago, and accidentally read the Ravenor Omnibus (the Inquisitor trilogy, also by Dan Abnet, that chronologically follows the Eisenhorn series) first, When I picked up Ravenor I was only semi-familiar with the WH40K universe from a few video games I had played, and thought that reading some good, gritty, military science fiction set in this dystopian and grim future, being a fan of David Drake and other good, fire-blackened military SF, sounded intriguing, but to be honest I figured I would probably be disappointed. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Dan Abnett is a truly gifted writer and these stories are incredibly fast-paced, detailed, dark, violent, gripping, edge-of-your-seat-action-packed-page-turners, I was so delighted to learn there were still three books to read after Ravenor, and Eisenhorn also packed an equal punch. I have since read every Dan Abnett WH40K novel, and also discovered a whole new universe of excellent books by equally talented authors built around this lore of the God Emperor of the Imperium and his minions vs. the forces of Chaos and Xenos, virtually endless supply of great stuff out there. I am now listening to the whole Inquisitor series again, in the correct order this time, just to re-live this amazing, memorable story. The voice acting on this is incredibly well done too. Very enjoyable the 2nd time through!

Inquisition at its best

it's a very nice change from all the superhuman based books of Warhammer. characters are all entertaining and well written. I will buy the rest of the series.

Cool story and characters.

Eisanhorn is so cool almost get a James bond kinda vibe from him, and old school detective batman..if that makes sense. Anyway highly recommend.

Abnet and Longworth at it again. Great Story along with great narration. For the Emperor!

Phenomenal!

While I have listened to numerous 40K books, none has nabbed my attention and sucked me into its world like this title. I immediately got the next in the series on completion, a must for anyone interested in Warhammer 40k.

Fantastic Book

I loved it. the voice acting was great! Each chapter left you wanting more. Definitely would recommend this book.
