THE STORY

Hesh has only one chance to escape this madness – preventing the 472nd Siege Regiment of Krieg from attempting a suicidal final assault on enemy lines. But as the t’au tighten their grasp on the planet and fire and poison leach into its atmosphere, the commissar’s time is running short. With few allies save for Jens, his cryptic prefectus militant, he must risk everything to save his soldiers.

Amazing story. A must read for all 40k fans especially for those death korps lovers

Kriegs Deathriders

An amazing look into the life of a death korps commisar and his unique struggle balancing the strengths and reputation of the Kriegsmen

Underdog cavalry

This follow a reluctant commissar of the DeathRiders of Krieg. Fighting against fatal odds of Tau Zenos and no supportive command structures.

A fine addition to Krieg's honor roll

The reader is a fantastic fit for the Krieg, low sonorus, almost sinister. The cadence does run a little slow for what you'd expect in a fighting situation but that may be how they see the Death Korp. Calm and detached in the face of war. The main character seems a little off from what we've seen in the past but you have to keep in mind that a Krieg Commissar is not born on Krieg. When you start to see the very human flaws of a very human man next to the troops he oversees, you start to appreciate the duality. Great listen, more Krieg novels please

A Masterful Grimdark tale

The author nails the grimdark tone of both 40k and the death korps of krieg. An gripping tale, even if there were a few points that could have been expanded on or cleared up. Would listen to this again.
