THE STORY

Great book, a bit disappointed

Great book. Wish we saw some returning characters in this book. Great characters and I hope they can unite with Decimus in a crusade against the imperium

Nightlords being evil, chaos space marine duplicity.

An excellent tale of the Eighth Legion. Not quite on the level of ADB's Nightlord trilogy, but enjoyable from start to finish.

Well read. Not to be missed by ANY 40K fan!

Features a nice mix of Chaos Space Marines and Loyalist units but the Tech Priest kinda steals the show for me for about half the book. Great action and depiction of battle stress / decision making. As for the Nightlords, I enjoyed and was surprised by their actual groundedness. "The loyalists are insane! Not us!" Very refreshing compared to the basic, saber rattling, "For the Emperor nonsense." These guys are on their own in this universe and they get it. Nor do they have any illusions about it. Yes they are skilled in, and gleefully partake in, terrorism, psyops and slaughter, but they are also matter-of-fact and realistic.
A few left of a terrible breed. Their commander genuinely cares for his Murderkin's legacy and his Tech Priest. Funny to be rooting for their like the whole way. Well Done Mike!

Excellent chaos story!

An excellent book! If you enjoy chaos space marine stories then you are in for a treat with this one!

The blades thirst

A fun romp with the boys in midnight blue, like most chaos warband books its mostly a one and done story with cool bits littered throughout. recommend for chaos marines and nightlords fans!
