This is still a good story decades after it was written. I remember reading a story when I was in high school in the 1990s right after it came out. When I saw this book on audible. I bought it just to read the story again. As the Universe the author has created has unfolded the characters in the story really don’t play a significant role. However, this story does play a significant role as a whole. I am trying not to ruin the story for anyone who has not read this book or any of the rest in the series. There is a lot of great information here and a lot of good character development. Even after almost 30 years, the story could be released today and still sell quite well.

Still good after decades

What did you love best about In Sylvan Shadows?

Character interactions. While the combat is good because most of the characters do not kill/fight for a living and it takes a different tole on them... it's the dialogue that keeps you listening.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Boulder Shoulder Bros. Ivan and Pickle are always down for a fight and a laugh. I know their motives and story parts might be small but you know what to expect with dwarfs.

What about Victor Bevine’s performance did you like?

Victor always does a nice job. He does most if not all of the Drizzt books I've listened to and he is in the top 5 for FR narrators.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Homeland.

Any additional comments?

I don't feel like you have to had read the first book in the series to understand what was happening in Sylvan Shadows. Obviously, character background helps but the story seems fairly independent.

Taking the Fight to the Forrest

Salvatore, brings you into the story so flawlessly that you can't put it down. Unassuming characters that are not your average heros.
