The perfect next listen for fans of Megan Miranda and Jessica Knoll, In Her Skin is a gripping debut thriller told from the perspectives of three unforgettable women.

Meggie Meyer, an anxiety-ridden debut author, can’t bear to face her upcoming book tour, but she can’t give up on her writing career just as it’s about to really begin. She comes up with a plan that’s so crazy, it just might work: She hires an actress to impersonate her for the two-week stint. Sloan Buchanan, the spunky aspiring actress, jumps at the opportunity to use her intensive acting method to sink into this unusual role, and the line between her and her character quickly begins to blur. And Rachel Drake, the no-nonsense detective, is left to put the pieces together when Sloan vanishes after the tour’s end.

In rotating chapters from these three unique voices, we unravel the complicated web of secrets that Sloan left in her wake, working towards the shocking truth behind her disappearance.

The mystery is great, but what really sets this novel apart is how well it takes you into the subtleties of mental illness. How we cover it up, how we cope, and how subtle the descent can be. It’s so subtly woven and expertly told. An excellent study of the human character. Highly recommend!

An excellent examination of mental illness

it's been such a long time since I had a book that made me want to not ever put it down! The acting was amazing, the story was so good, it kept me guessing until the very end and I wanted more. and I wanted more. I also loved having a book with so many female characters that were well-developed

OMG I LOVED IT

I almost never listen to audiobooks or read thrillers, but I'm so glad I changed things up a bit and listened to this one. I was sort of intimidated by the prospect of 10 hours' worth of material to listen to, but it went by so quickly! The characters are fully fleshed-out with interesting arcs and the plot is full of twists and turns. If you happen to live in Austin, it's also fun to read about the story unfolding in real places around the city. I also thoroughly enjoyed the narration. All in all, a really impressive first novel!

super-fun and engrossing!

Masterfully created story that leaves the reader never quite sure of the outcome until the very end. I found myself sure it would end one way, only to change my mind during the following chapter - that happened several times! Characters are likable and well-developed.

Great debut novel... I highly recommend!
