The cycle comes to an end as the long-anticipated Immortal War kicks off once again.

Powerful Immortals, living for eternity, have had centuries to millennia to build up their power, wary of their neighbors doing the same thing. When the first shot is fired, thousands of plans and doomsday weapons are unleashed, once again nearly scouring all life from the face of Pallos.

Elaine is having none of this nonsense.

Tossed from one crisis to another like a leaf in the wind, Elaine and the rest of the Eventide Eclipse are stretched to their limits, doing everything in their power to save lives.

But as the cataclysmic war tears Pallos apart, as ancient dragons descend to unleash their wrath, as pebbles going the speed of light descend upon cities, Elaine is faced with a terrible decision.

She can't save everyone. Who is she going to pick?

Reminds me of New Horizon. The beginning or new adventures. Great start. Leaves you hungry for more. 5 stars all over.

The big timeskip. At some point she got parallel thought and the author decided that every decision that’s made we, the reader, have to listen to all of the options and why they’re good/bad. I really really like the story overall, but I eventually started skipping forward when she “spun another thought” or her “thought led her to thinking”. IMO if we didn’t have to listen to every one of her rumination’s we could combine the last 3 books into 1 story.
Sadly I don’t see this stopping in the final books of the series, but I’ll probably still get them.

I liked this story and characters a lot until…

This series used to be pretty good. I keep holding onto hope it will come back, but the author keeps jumping around in time and talking about things that happened instead of letting the reader/ listener experience them happening.

Still talking about the story instead of telling it

This book is either a money grab or the author was forced to put something out. Hope this isn’t the series now. If so, I’ll move on.

About 20% of the book reflects the title. The rest was more inner monologue or discussion about NOTHING IMPORTANT. We understand decision making but we also don’t drone on inside our own heads about it. So much fluff and not even for a cushion. I think this genre needs editors and publishers to make sure the story has a finite time so it doesn’t drag on.

Place Holder Book

Very disappointed in how this series has been heading. It went from a young woman proving herself against all odds and helping people to a narcissistic brat who's a hypocrite to her core. She's been spoon fed and groomed for success every step of the way with little to no obstacles and when is the readers thought there was going to be an intense war, it turned into FarmVille. What happened to her and the sentinels, banding together and fighting against the ant monsters to save humanity? The second war starts, army's immediately disband and focus on starting a village. ALSO the rapid time skipping in the past few books is insane pacing, making it near impossible to care about development or characters when they come and go in the blink of an eye

Disappointing
