Don't pick up that coin!

I was just an innocent author minding my own business. Until I found that coin… The evil thing zapped me into the novel I was writing.

Now, I'm dodging ogres, humans, elves, and a certain wizard-in-training with a proclivity for changing people into small harmless animals.

My only goal is to get home again, and the best way to do that is to get this book back on track. I must help the sexy exiled prince find his brother's killer.

The only problem is that the prince keeps flirting with me rather than the women he's supposed to be adding to the harem.

Wait! Flirting with me? That can't be right.

Wait wait! Why did I call him sexy? Am I falling for the prince, too?

I Destroyed the Elf Prince's Harem is a standalone novel within the Fortune Favors the Fae collection and follows the adventures of one poor author as he stumbles his way through his own novel and just maybe falls in love with the hero. Along the way, he will encounter elves, humans, ogres, a wizard-in-training who's really bad at magic, jealousy, possessiveness, political intrigue, secrets, and a prince who has eyes for just one man. Unfortunately, that one man is as blind as a bat when it comes to love.

From spicy to sweet, zany romps to epic adventures, there's something for everyone in the Fortune Favors the Fae series. Discover destiny and true love, and follow the coin on its fickle journey to the next world and a new magical adventure. Each book is a standalone and can be listened to in any order.

I enjoyed listening to this book thoroughly. The writing and voice acting were both great, and I really enjoyed how they handled the coin in this book. it really scratched an itch i was having for a fantasy isekai.

SUPER GOOD

I loved this book in ebook, then this narrator knocked it out of the park. It's got fun isekai tropes and an oblivious MC who somehow misses the hot elf prince flirting shamelessly with him. I like the plot and the romance.

This was such a fun surprise.

Quick setup: Adam is an author minding his business when a weird magical coin yeets him straight into the fantasy novel he’s writing. Suddenly he’s inside his own unfinished story, trying to keep the plot on track so he can get home. The problem? The elf prince he created, Nylian, is very much real now, very much obsessed with Adam, and absolutely not interested in the harem he’s supposed to have. Chaos immediately follows.

I loved this. Truly.

First of all, the audiobook? Incredible. Highly recommend if you’re an audio reader. The delivery added so much to the humor, the banter, and the emotional beats. This is also a full standalone, which I appreciated.

What really got me was Adam’s slow, accidental falling. My sweet, bi-curious, oblivious baby. Watching him go from “I need to fix the plot” to “oh no, I care deeply and this elf prince is ruining my life” was perfect. Nylian falling first, pining hard, and being devoted while Adam slowly catches up? Chef’s kiss.

The adventure aspect was so fun. I loved the intrigue, the quests, the constant “wait, this isn’t how I wrote this” moments. The world building was surprisingly solid too. I could picture everything so clearly as it was happening, which made the whole story feel very immersive.

It was funny, it was sweet, it was a little chaotic, and it had heart. The romance leaned more soft and emotional than super spicy, but it worked for the story. And once Adam finally gets it? Worth the wait.

Honestly, this was just a good time. Laugh-out-loud moments, solid romance, great pacing, and a very satisfying ending.

I loved it.
Would absolutely recommend.

I’ve only listened to a few audiobooks so far, and I haven’t been too impressed. Then I bought this one and…OMG! Darcy Stark blew me away with his voicing ability. He’s the first male narrator I’ve heard that can do female voices at all, and his are distinct and obviously feminine. They aren’t all perfect; a couple stray towards Monty Python territory, but the more important ones, like Adelaide, are extremely well done. This book has a lot of characters, some of which are minor, but Mr. Stark gave each one their own personality and sound. I feel like I might start looking for books he narrates, much like I follow certain authors, such as Jocelynn Drake. I’ve read most of her books, and I really love this one. The characters are strong and funny, while the plot twists keep coming in a way that is also funny. I particularly loved an early one, featuring a Billy Joel song 😂. I actually listened to this whole book in pretty much one sitting, I was so entertained by the story and just in awe of the narration. Thank you, Ms. Drake and Mr. Stark for an amazing experience!

Amazing narration!
