Summoning gone wrong

I love Ethan and Mal. John Solo did an amazing job giving these characters voices. I enjoyed reading this book and loved listening to this audio of it. Mal's attempts at helping Ethan find love with his crush was hilarious the way things went away made me laugh. I enjoyed how their relationship grew and how they came to care for one another. This was a fun book to listen too.

Endearing and funny, Perfect Paranormal Rom-Com

What a funny and sweet paranormal romance! Mal and Ethan, both clueless, honest, and endearing in their own ways, somehow get their act together & end up together - the "how they got there" is one 'hell' of a story! Unexpected outcomes, consequences, allies and enemies, these two get help & hindrance along the way in various forms. Some of their ideas regarding solutions to their dilemma are - interesting. No worries, this is a wonderfully written rom-com with amazingly likable MCs & side characters is well worth the time to read it. Laughter is the best medicine, there's lots of love & cause for laughter to be found within these pages. I can't wait for book two!
The audio version was even better! The narrator had some fun with the voicing in this one, and it worked so well. His timing was perfect for the comedy, and it was easy to simply be swept away into the story. Beautiful job author and narrator, both!

How to Summon Love (Badly)

This was a really enjoyable listen with a fun mix of humor and heart. The story of a hopeless romantic accidentally summoning a not-so-evil demon made for a light, entertaining ride. Ethan and Malphas have great chemistry, and their unlikely friendship adds a nice balance of comedy and warmth.

John Solo did a solid job distinguishing the voices and keeping things engaging throughout. Overall, it’s an easy, feel-good listen with plenty of charm.

Surprisingly delightful

I had no idea what to expect but I loved this story! It was a great palate cleanser with surprising humor. Mal is actually a terrible demon and Ethan is the most adorably awkward innocent man who accidentally summoned a demon. Ethan’s awkwardness made him a that much more lovable. Even though Mal is trying to claim Ethan’s soul, they manage to fall for each other and I loved every second of it! The narrator did a fantastic job and portraying all the characters. Funny and emotional

It was amazing how Ethan and Malphas story was brought to life by the amazing voices and inflexions of the narrator.
I loved the funny moments and the emotional ones, as well as the way they found their way to each other despite all the danger that awaited ahead.
The glimpse to the next adventure was sweet, and I can’t wait for the happiness of the next couple.

Paranormal romcom

Love this new series by Silvana Falcon. She always creates such well-rounded, empathetic characters with such snarky villains who you just love to hate by the time they try to do their worst to our hero and his love. Great side characters and a kick-azz best friend who just happens to be a librarian.

Mistaken Demon

This is book one in the newest Silvana Falcon series. It's a cute title and a rather sweet story. Paranormal lite when compared to the author's Monsters of Veridia. This is an entertaining tale about a librarian who is willing to sell his soul for a 'great' love and the demon who writes the contract.
Ethan is a romantic with a soul so pure that Hell will do anything to get him. Malphas is a golden retriever of a demon. His attempts to collect soul contracts always end up with him assisting the soul and losing them to Heaven. Getting Ethan to sign is his last chance of getting out of Hell's basement file room.
They fall in love and it's a race against time to get Ethan out of his contract.
The story has so many laugh out loud moments. From the summoning. You can use coriander instead of laurel, they're both herbs and both green. To Malphas' terrible spell casting efforts.
The story is nicely paced. Good worldbuilding. Noah is a great secondary and sounding board. The evil demons are Snidley Whiplash villains.
The only negative for me was John Solo's narration. I cannot love his voice, it's sometimes grating on my nerves. But overall, this is an original, funny and fun story.

Unlike anything I've read - love it!

Found out about this book on Tuesday finished it on Wednesday. I've read several paranormal romance books, and a lot narrated by John Solo, but i haven't read any quite like this one. It's a great book! No spoilers here, but I haven't heard John's voice that low before. Such an amazing talent! And it provides a much needed depth of character to the demons. The story itself has a unique spin. I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series.

Wonderful story!

I truly loved this story of love saving one’s soul. Ethan works at a library with his best friend Noah or that’s how it seems from the beginning. Ethan was looking for love in all the wrong places and ends up summoning a demon when he tried for Cupid. Mal is the Demon that Ethan summoned in mistake and in hell Mal was always told that he was the worst demon ever, only in the end he was able to turn his life around. He saved Ethan from his own stupidity of signing over his soul for a guy who had no real interest in him and was only concerned with himself. I am really happy that in the end an angel helped a librarian and a demon find a free forever together. I definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves mm love stories that start with a great cover.
