Publisher's Summary

To say Sheriff Natalie Strand is shocked that Sarah Eastman, the girl who kissed her at a high school party, is back in town would be a huge understatement. Between Sarah’s return and a stray dog that gets the best of her, Natalie’s world is suddenly turned upside down.

They say you can’t go home again, but that’s exactly what Sarah does when she returns to Spruce Mountain, Oregon, to live with her aunt and uncle after her divorce. All she wants is peace and to ensure her daughter, Harley, has stability. Seeing Natalie again after 17 years ignites a passion that she hasn’t felt in a long time. Never mind that her heart tumbles in her chest or that she forgets words when Natalie’s around, she needs to focus on her family and getting her life back together.

Natalie and Sarah are about to discover that anything is possible when love takes the long way home.

Great feel good book!

Home is a great, lighthearted book without high drama. A nice, easy, fall read.

Adorable Holiday Read!

This is a cuddle up with a warm blanket and a hot cup of tea kind of read. Low angst, hot romance, Perfect way to fall into fall. Sheriff Natalie is in charge of a small town and her high school crush returns to regroup 17 years later and with a child. There's an elusive dog. The whole story is just a sweet love story where you are rooting for them from page 1.

Another great Bryant and Pope combination...

Quick and sweet weekend listen. Henry steals the show, but listening to Nat and Sarah reconnect was heartwarming. No real drama in this book and that’s always what I look forward to with Ms. Bryant’s books. Only complaint is that the book came to end. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a sweet and a easy listen.

Breather

I was really interested in this book. The reader was a bit fast, but not unmanageable. Then I heard it the repeated gasping for breath. And once I heard it I couldn’t I hear it. Quite distracting. I’ll return the book.

Fantastic!

I loved every part of this book! The premise of returning home post divorce is believable, the main characters are well defined, and supporting characters are a delight. The subtle ‘Easter eggs’ to her previous novels and nods to the ‘Earpers’ are a joy to discover. And who doesn’t love the mystical bond between kids and dogs? Even though the genre ensures the main characters will fall in love, every Kris Bryant book is a fresh and unpredictable journey of how they get there. So very good!!!

Feel good romance

The characters just make this book a fun story to listen to. Great way to spend a lazy afternoon. Enjoyed the narrator Brittni Pope very much, she brought the story to life.

I loved the books

Kris Bryant’s books are great and this one as well. I probably wouldn’t have Brittni Pope narrate it, but that because I don’t like her style, it sounds as if she is bored...

A wonderful heartwarming book!

What else would you expect from Kris Bryant!
It was a very good book and Brittni Pope did a wonderful job at Narrating. I felt every emotion and pictured the story in my mind with help. This story had all the elements that I enjoy. A great romance with little angst and of course a HEA...I would recommend it to anyone. Take a listen, you won’t be disappointed. 5 Star across the board!” 5⭐️

WEAK

This book was too cookie-cutter predictable. I was extremely disappointed with it. Even a sweet little girl and an adorable dog didn’t help. This narrator was also lacking in believability.

Sweet story made confusing by the narrator

This sweet love story is totally made for anyone who loves dogs. But, it is made confusing by the narrator who has a nice voice but reads the majority of the characters with the same voice so that it is difficult to know who is saying or doing what. I had to keep rewinding to understand what was going on. The narrator also has a really irritating habit of adding very fake sounding sound effects into the narrative as if this story has suddenly become a play. She adds these noises, fake sounding laughter, exaggerated sighs etc, even though these descriptions are also written into the text she reads out. The producer should have made up her/his mind whether this audiobook is a play or not and, as it is not written as a play because we don't have a range of voices, barking from the dog, car engine noises & etc, cut these sound effects out.
