Publisher's Summary

There was a time when Israel could do no wrong in America's eyes. That time is long past, and justly so - no nation is absolutely perfect, particularly not one that is engaged in a conflict as long as the Arab-Israeli conflict. But the myth of the perfect Israel has been supplanted by a far more deleterious myth: the myth of the evil Israel. This new myth has so pervaded contemporary culture that the history of Israel - as well documented as it is - has been recast and retold to fit a false narrative of Israel as violent occupier.

Superb audiobook

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is a must read for those interested in learning more about the Arab-Israeli conflict. There is so much misinformation perpetuated by the mainstream media. This book brings some clarity to a very complex and volatile issue.

Covers the key elements of the controversy

Superb summary of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that clearly shows that it is Palestinian rejectionism that is its major cause. Also important in that it covers in some detail the Jewish connection to the land of Israel for the last 2000 years. Highly recommended!

Extremely accessible for a comprehensive history

While any story that tackles a voluminous subject will lack details, this would be a very good starting point to anyone interested in a well -researched, minimally editorialized, introduction to the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Telling and informative

As non biased as a book can be regarding actual facts and frequently glossed over or conveniently forgot events.

Well rounded history

There is so much anti-Israel sentiment in the media and in the world today, it is very difficult to get an accurate portrayal of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This narrative gives an open-eyed look at the modern history of Israel, from the Zionist movement of the 19th century to today.
Where Israel deserves criticism the author gives criticism. However, he gives a full accounting of the intransigence of the Arabs, now known as the Palestinians, to arrive at a peaceful solution, even a two-state solution. anyone seeking a full and accurate understanding of the dynamic at work between Israel and the Palestinians needs to read this book.
