Publisher's Summary

A straight guy gives gay hookup tips to a virgin. What could go wrong?

When I first met Whit, I couldn't get away from him fast enough. He's a hockey player, and I hate everything to do with the sport that broke my heart.

But I can't help feeling sorry for the guy. He's newly out and desperate to meet someone, but his eagerness seems to scare potential hook-ups away.

Agreeing to be his wingman should've been simple. Watching him flirt with other guys made things complicated.

Whit challenges me in every aspect of my life, from my hatred of hockey to the new questions I'm asking myself. Like why a straight man suddenly can't stop thinking about kissing another guy.

I think the answer lies somewhere on Whit's lips....

Contains mature themes.

Awesome series!

Each book in this Vino & Veritas series by other authors is really good. The characters are well rounded and the stories entertaining! The narration was superb, as Iggy Toma is my all time favorite narrator….the first one I ever heard in an audiobook. Tim was great too! Check out this series you won’t be sorry!!!

Sweet & Fun

Great addition to the series. Easy, breezy yet not boring at all. The "but I'm not gay" aspect done with much less Uhumf than most of these stories and for that I was pleased because its really been over done by now.Its the perfect read for summer days on the hammack !
Enjoy!

Cute Story, Easy Listen

Does it bother anyone else that the images from the book covers get reused on other books? Is that an Audible thing?

This dude is a walking ad for depression medication

As per usual with this series one of the characters doesn’t develop until about the last 30 minutes of the book, which is incredibly frustrating, but overall this book series wonderful can’t wait for the next one

Great story & narration

I love Eden Finley’s books. The stories are funny but with some emotional tension that makes the HEA feel hard won and possible. The narrators are great and make the book come alive. I also like how her books bring in characters from her other series… like little Easter eggs. Highly recommend.

Confusing narration

Iggy Toma was better than Tim Paige but with both I had a hard time recognizing who was speaking and which sentences were thought, spoken or the narrator.
The story was average.

Not for me.

The story was well written for what it was: two normal guys, doing normal things, and having a normal relationship. No angst. No action. No false tension. No drama. Just... normal. While I'm sure there's an audience for stories like this, I found it boring. I spent the entire book waiting for the story to start. Nothing happened. At all. I liked that it didn't try to be anything other than it was, it didn't force tension or create unnecessary drama, but I personally like there to be something in the story that gets me invested. When it's obvious two people are going to get together and there is absolutely no reason why they shouldn't, that's sweet, but not a page-turner.

Still, for a normal story about the normal life of normal guys, it was well written.

Cute and fluffy

Such a cute story. I loved all the characters and the plot had great flow.
I don't think the narrators did it justice though. I don't think they captured either of the characters very well. They're not bad but I think they should have, at the very least, switched characters.

Fantastic M/M Romance!

Headstrong is a great low angst listen about a current and a former hockey player who meet at Vino And Veritas bar. I am big fan of the grumpy-sunshine trope and loved how saracastic Rainn was and how he slowly warmed up to Whit's sunny personality.

This book was funny, sweet and steamy. Tim Paige was perfect for Whit's bubbly character and Iggy Toma was fantastic as Rainn he did a great job with the sarcasm and had me laughing.
