Publisher's summary

I crashed the Immortal party and it ended with a surprise encore … a big one.

I thought being a Demon sucked, but being a Demon Goddess is a whole ’nother level. Life had been so much easier when I was just a forty-year-old has-been actress trying to make a comeback in the land of Botox and BS.

For the love of everything absurd, I was just getting used to being a Demon … and BAM … all of a sudden I’m supposed to be one of the two gals in charge? I mean, being the co-star of the show is great until it involves ruling the Darkness with the evil whack job who destroyed my mother.

Pandora is a guiding blight in my world, and I plan to cancel her at all costs. With my Demon love by my side and a gaggle of Immortal nutbags along for the ride, I’ll find the vicious Goddess and put her back in her box.

Ah well, fate is set. Destiny is my performance to command. I plan to improv the heck out of it. Go big or go home is my new modus operandi. Although, right now, home sounds seriously appealing. Either way, I’m strapping in and getting ready for the wildest gig yet.

Cliff hangar!

Great plot twist! And the show must go on! What a phenomenal cast of characters. Should be interesting to see how Cecile and Abadons relationship takes off. The quotes are great that they can recite to each other and Candy Vargo, some images you just cannot get out of your head! Well that and Uncle Joe but they’re both great for some laughs.

Repetitive

Like others have said, this book just seems excessively repetitive. If you've listened to other Robyn Peterman books, you already know the first chapter of the new book is the last chapter of the prior book. OK. Cool. But this book... it felt like she just kept hitting copy/paste from prior books. "Reliving Memories" and constantly telling prior stories as of to "refresh" the Readers (listeners) memories. I can't tell you how much of this book I skipped over, at times, it felt like full chapters.

As another user mentioned previously, I felt like I was getting scammed. I wondered to myself, if I bought the paperback, and took out all the pages that were "retelling" how much of the book would actually be left...

Ending on a good note, I love Robyn Peterman's stories. Her characters and story lines are absolutely wonderful. that being said, her books almost feel more like 'chapters' Rather than actual books. I'm going to give her one more go, because I found another title that caught my eye, but if it's anything like the end of this series, or the last book I listened to of "Good to the last death" series, I'm going to call it. As awesome as her stories are, I truly do feel like I'm being duped. There's *maybe* 2 hours of this book that are "new" to the story line. : (

37 minutes of copy & paste.

I am enjoying this series. I have laughed out loud several times. Wouldn’t mind a bit more romance but I’ll be patient and wait. What I did not enjoy was listening to the last chapter to the previous book all over again in this book’s so called “chapter 1”. THIRTY SEVEN MINUTES of copy and paste. With this being the shortest book in the series so far, I felt a little cheated when I realized it’s even shorter. If you want to help readers w a “last episode recap” just call it what it is. “Chapter 1” of a book implies new material. I thought that was writing class 101 knowledge?

Characters and story line

I love this spin off series so much. I crack up at all the characters witty lines but Candy Varro is hilarious (not sure if I am spelling the name correctly). Robyn is such a talented author. I wish I could have her help me with my writing. I cannot wait for the next book to come out. The narrator is the best!

Getting Shorter and More Repetetive.

I like these characters and enjoy the world. That said, I feel like each of these books gets shorter and shorter for our credit/money. For instance, the first chapter of every book is the last chapter of the last one. This book is 4hours and 24 minutes long. The first chapter, a rehash of the last books last chapter, is 37 of those minutes.

Later in the story, the main character is asked to prove something and what we get it another long scene of her 'reliving' an experience which was just a word for word repeat of another former chapter. It's lazy and feels like a rip off. Did we even get 3.5 hours of new story?

I understand the need to churn out books at the spee dof light but can we please make it new information and not a rehash of what was already written please. If this habit doesn't stop then these books will deserve to be returned. I respect how hard I work for my money more than paying through the nose to relisten to something I just heard.
