The author opens the book with a story about how he escaped by night from a monastic compound because- at that point in his life- silent meditation just wasn't for him. Keenly aware that other people might have a similar reaction, Headspace first and foremost builds a happy and safe environment for all. Give it a try.

Usually, when I read a new book on Yoga it seems like the same old thing. But, this book has something different to offer. That is its practicality. It isn't a book about Yoga; it is a book about how to be successful at Yoga. The author is well aware of pitfalls at each stage and explicitly warns the reader of them, and gives advice for proceeding.
