Great listen; great story!

I came across the Audiofile review and was intrigued: "Listeners will be invested from the beginning as the novel explores privilege, family, and identity." Oh, and don't forget class and gender and sexuality. Audiofile didn't steer me wrong! The story made me question (and challenged) my powers of empathy and acknowledge some difficult truths. Can we care about those who don't care about (or have learned to hate) themselves? Imani Jade Powers gives a great performance!

This book is terrible. None of the characters are likable. And it treats gay women like it’s some sort of punishment.. do not waste your time
