2,4,6,8, WHO DO I APPRECIATE? VICTORIA LAURIE!!!!!

I really enjoy this author!! I would love to meet the woman who created so many interesting characters!! She must be amazing herself! To anyone who reads this, when I find a writer that I like a lot , I usually love all they do so my review could be tainted with that overall view. Her stories are just so interesting to me and I love her humor! I read without thinking to about character development , plot line, and literary stuff. I just enjoy a good story and that is what I find in this series and every other series by this author. It makes me smile and that is all I need from a book. I am simple that way and usually easy to please with a good story. Also, I just have to add that I love the character Gilley and I adore the way the narrator does his voice. It's as adorable as he is in the book.

Great Ghoulie Fun!

Victoria Laurie, has hit a Giant Ghoulie Goalie, with Ghouls Interrupted, book 6 of the Ghost Hunter mystery series. It's a funny, fantastic, paranormal, serial killer, thriller, chiller!

M.J. Holliday, is the star investigator on a TV reality show, Ghoul Getters. Accompanying her on the ghost busting tour are, BFF Gilley Gillespie, BF Heath Whitefeather. Popping in now and again from the other side to assist as M.J.'s spirit guide, is Heath's deceased grandfather Sam Whitefeather.

Heath receives a call that his uncle has died. He informs M.J. he must go to the Zanto Pueblo in New Mexico. Sam informs M.J., that a terrible, ancient, evil has gotten loose, and if not stopped, will kill all the Whitefeather kin, including Heath. The Ghoul Getters team, heads for New Mexico to hunt down, and stop the evil spirit.

They discover that a demon, freed from a long incarceration, is wrecking deadly havoc in the area. No one in the tribe, believes the trio's theory, even after viewing the remains of a giant claw mark embedded in a tree. The tribe thinks it's probably a mountain lion, claw mark. The slinking, slithering, dragon-shaped demon continues its killing spree while the trio risks their lives, investigating the murders. Most of the tribe members, think they are plum loco, refuse to help capture the demon and generally hinder the crew's investigative efforts.

Gilley is once again, TOO FUNNY for words with his hypochondriac issues! He brings eccentricity, humor and loyalty as he follows along after M.J. and Heath, in the demon hunt. The trio goes into places, where the even the most brave, dare not enter.

Great performance by the Narrator, Eileen Stevens!

Quite fun

Another in the series. All are very good and fun listens. Not ms. Laurie's best work, but worth the time (especially if you've already listened to the other). Personally I liked the psychic eye series a bit better. I like her books as they have the romance without getting too graphic.

MJ INDIANS HEATH GILLY>>>>

Ok story hard to say interested. I'm not into the indian thing so to me it was drawn out. I love the character lines and the story line was ok but was not her best. I'm glad I got it but was that fast fun easy listen... Sorry to say turned it off a few times and turned on the music because it just did not keep my interest pecked. I'm ready for the next one. I love scary Gilly he is just to funny.

I love how this trio works together

In the middle of a frantic filming schedule, Sam Whitefeather contacts MJ Holliday to come to New Mexico and help save his tribe from a terrible demon. Sam is MJ’s spirit guide and was Heath Whitefeather’s grandfather. MJ and Heath are mediums filming their show “Ghoul Getters” around the world, wherever spirits cause trouble.

While MJ lives in Boston, Heath lives in New Mexico near family on the reservation. Heath’s uncle is killed, and Heath returns for the funeral. MJ and her BFF Gil Gillespie from Ghoul Getters go with him. Heath’s aunt is mortally wounded in a car accident within days. Heath’s mother returns to the reservation amid a long-time dispute between her and the tribe. They will allow Heath and his mom to attend the funeral, but MJ and Gilley are not invited. Shortly, Heath’s home under renovation burns to the ground. MJ had a warning when she felt a phantom fire hours before. Clues from each attack point to a demon fought off by Whitefeather, the warrior, years before. Information on this demon exists on the reservation, just where MJ can’t go. She must figure a way to get that information while the tribe attends the day-long funeral for two members.

MJ is resourceful, so I have no worries about her. Gil is comic relief to lighten the story load. Heath is alone with his tenuous relationship to the tribe. The demon had proven that he can overcome a single man. They must all pull together with the tribe and even with the spirit of Sam Whitefeather.

I love how this trio works together. Each is a distinct personality with Heath and MJ complementing each other the best. Being mediums, they are open to others much of the time which causes others to feel trust and friendship with them. It seems so easy for them to intensify these feelings in others, but it is a result of years of hard work and active problem solving. The help of people close to the dead or victims of spirits is almost always needed, so this ability of the “ghoul getters” helps their investigations. They also often obtain help from people close to the victims who usually want to help after what seems to be a long period of time of trouble. MJ, Heath, and Gil bring relief to many by catching the various demons and sending them packing to the lower realms.

Not only did I truly enjoy this story, but I enjoy the entire Ghost Hunter series of mysteries. One might wonder how someone could enjoy a series based on the premise of person in trouble, demon attacking, people fighting back, dispensing of demon. Wow, but is that ever open for interpretation! It may seem a simple premise, but Victoria Laurie can stand that on end and come up with new stories that all have their own flavors and locations over and over again.

Highly recommended.

Good story

I've enjoyed this series. Had a little trouble following this one toward the end. The pace picked up and I lost track of characters as there were quite a few. Maybe it would have been easier to follow had I been reading a print version. (I did that years ago, but didn't remember this story line from that time to this.) Still, worth listening to again. Enjoyed Eileen Stevens's narration.
