Namely, Elric wants the famed Faberge egg, created for the last tsarina, but stolen away by Russian mystic Grigori Rasputin. The magically infused egg has life-saving properties, and it's worth a king's ransom.
For Esme, accepting the task is easy; finding the egg after Grigori has been brutally murdered while also being forced to mentor a bullheaded mystic detective in the middle of a family squabble is the trickier part. And things just seem to get more complicated from there. But Esme has little choice. Either she brings Elric the egg, or she'll end up as dragon kibble.

Loved this new book by Victoria Laurie. Bought the book but realized my job was getting in the way of reading. Decided to buy the audio book and listen while at work. Ha! good thing I work from home or there world have been public gasping, yelling and crying. Get this book now!

One of the best
I’ve read everything from Throne of Glass to Jacky Leon to Emperor’s Edge. Read this if you’ve loved those. A strong female lead. Adventure, mystery, suspense, action, some romance…all the right spices for the perfect mix. Buy it. You won’t regret it.
