Maybe you’re different

This book took a while to get going. I struggled to chapter 12 and started skipping around. The author/reader seems personable and intent on providing value. She has a contrarian philosophy to referral marketing in principle which could be useful for you but I’m not her customer. 3-4 12-17m chapters to explain referrals, word of mouth and warm traffic differences had me anticipating for her to make her point, maybe it was above me. Check out the referral of a lifetime revised edition if you don’t mind a parable. Maybe you can get some nuggets from this, but it’s a return for me .

Can I watch about what not to do and very little about what to do?

I get so tired of books and videos like this that talk on and on about all the things you shouldn’t do I don’t really tell you much of what you should do. This is a marketing strategy to get you to buy their program for which they will, enlighten you on what you should do.

Also, her opinions are not actually factual. They are just opinions. The problem is that she presents them as facts.

where's the beef?

easy to listen to. got to the end wondering what I really learned. her premise is that asking for referrals doesn't work - I don't think that's true. but ok, I want to learn how to get referrals without asking.

she suggests:
track your referrals
mention that you get referrals
have some plan to stay top of mind with your referral sources through meaningful and memorable touchpoints

sounds great. all very high level. and then the book ends, and she invites you to work with her or join the program.

this was a short book, but mostly filler. not bad ideas, but not very fleshed out.

Very helpful advice

The most valuable information is at the end, where she provides scripts to plant referral seeds. Will be applying this knowledge to my business.

Bull

I love audible I love reading and I love listening to books. I love listening to content that will help my business thrive and grow as I have a small business. Coaching programs are very expensive (worth it but investments)I know because I’ve invested in one recently so I like to double down by getting more books for content and Continuous growth. I should’ve known something was off with this book because I don’t have a problem asking for referrals in fact nobody should people need to understand that I am taking new customers and clients and I would love to have them be a part of my ecosystem if they are the right fit. There is no shame in that!
I kept waiting for this person to get to the point… I felt like I was taking crazy pills listening to this. If this is a Coaching book then say that if you want to sell your coaching program then say that…… Don’t package this up as if it’s some sort of a new way of doing things, it’s not

More content marketing with a sprinkling of value.

The name of the game in the 21st Century has been "content marketing." The recipe is simple: create material (like a book), share it for free or low cost, and generate goodwill and/or follow-up purchases. I've got no problem with that, in theory. Unfortunately, in practice, we end up with millions of pages of useless fluff promising solutions that you eventually learn are locked behind a pricey paywall. This book by Stacey Brown Randall -- with very little exception -- follows suit. This "book" is a sales pitch for her 4-figure+ coaching.

You can ignore about 3/4ths of the material. It is repetitive nothingness.

Skip ahead to Chapter 8 (Audiobook Chapter 13). That's where you'll find the closest thing to substance.

Could have been a memo

Wouldn’t recommend. Skip to Chapter 16 (audible, not the actual book) if you are gonna read. Author comes off so full of herself.
