Publisher's Summary

A war has broken out in the galaxy! The great spacefaring races are all entangled in the fight, and even at the very edge of the known universe, humanity can hear the echoes of its distant bloody battles. Our suzerains and defenders, the Geckho, are also caught up in this all-encompassing conflict. Is that a good thing for humanity or not?

The answer is up for debate. On the one hand, the Geckho will no longer take the trouble to defend a planet inhabited by people, which is worrying. But on the other, might humanity have the chance to make a name for itself and take a more active role in interstellar politics?

Gnat is with the Shiamiru crew on the front lines. He's just changed class to Listener, and his friends find themselves right in the thick of this grand interstellar war....

I love this series.

I can't wait for book four and will buy it immedietly. Plot wise it still goes on with the best of them but I would not complain one bit if the narrator stopped and a new one was braught on. My god is this guy bad.

The Story

The story prior to this book has moved forward. Now this book comes along with tons of filler, Nat being anti social and doesn't give two craps about Earth. So much Russian male prideful postering in this book, its freaking ridiculous.

The story has not moved forward, still in fighting and backstabbing.

Great read, great series, gamer or not!

I’ve played some video games, but am not a gamer. This series was such a fun adventure! Great characters, plot development, and entertaining as hell! Great read, great ride!

Can’t take narrator any longer

I’m not generally picky about narrators, but I just can’t take the terrible female voices. Had to quit about 1/3 through and switch to the ebook.

Not bad.

Lots to like with fun characters and a great world. I really hope this series does more to explore both the game and many of the cultures and groups we have met. I look forward to the next the book. Having said that it's not all great this one has some problems but it comes down to taste if you can look past what I feel are deeply annoying but honestly minor choices and actions then I am very sure that you will grow to love these books. Gnat is likely one of the few characters that walk the line between flawed and annoying, being both competent and not a mary sue.

the master of a cliffhanger strikes again

ice always left frustrated but I could type of frustrated by the fact that he's left us with a cliffhanger that's a doozy the one problem is this narrator doing all the vices not the best this is something that should be done by somebody like full cast audio with a different group of audio narrators having one person to the narration doesn't do this series Justice

I've waited so long!

Great series! Another compelling LitRPG addition.
I liked this book so much I purchased the hard copy. I believe the pronounciations from the narrator are off but the series remains captivating.
