Publisher's Summary

A mother of small children trusts her 'gut feeling' and it saves her life.

A young dad is able to grieve for his lost baby - using a song.

What if there were parts of our minds that we never use, but if awakened, could make us so much happier, connected and alive? What if awakening those parts could bring peace to the conflicts and struggles we all go through?

From the cutting edge, where therapy meets neuroscience, Steve Biddulph explores the new concept of 'supersense' - the feelings beneath our feelings - which can guide us to a more awake and free way of living every minute of our lives. And the Four Storey Mansion, a way of using your mind that can be taught to a five-year-old, but can also help the most damaged adult.

In Fully Human, Steve Biddulph draws on deeply personal stories from his own life, as well as those of his clients, and from the frontiers of thinking about how the brain works with the body and the wisdom of the 'wild creature' inside all of us.

At the peak of a lifetime's work, one of the world's best-known psychotherapists and educators shows how you can be more alive, more connected. More fully human.

Excellent Read

What an amazing book! The authors ability to touch hearts, minds and souls, sharing their life’s work as a therapist and an human is astonishing. It is obvious they have thrown everything at creating a book which is in a class of its own. I bought the book on audible ( really helpful hearing the words) and now am about to order a ‘real’ copy. 🙏

Thank you Steve Biddulph

This is a book I wish to refer to my children and grandchildren. After hearing an interview with Steve on the radio I immediately got the audiobook and also purchased the book. I was meant to read this book.

Cutting edge personal development

In one book, to have encapsulated the insight and work of years of therapy, is quite an accomplishment. An excellent resource. The perfect gift for anyone on the cusp of looking for more depth in life. An excellent refresher for anyone on the journey.

Loved it.

I really like it when the author reads the book, and this one is done really well. It's a very good listen, one that I will probably listen to again and will get the hardcopy to gift to loved ones. Thanks for this brilliant work Steve.

Disappointing despite the initial promise.

Clearly I am not an expert in this field, which is why I lept at the insights this book promised in the introduction.
I am self aware enough to recognise when I can use some help, and this book certainly peaked my interest at first blush.
To be fair, there is quite a lot within this work
I found interesting and will try to make use of as time goes on.
However, regardless of the validity of the arguments delivered, and the way in which they related to the topic, the author too often forgot his own "comfy chair" advice and repeatedly devolved into a politically motivated diatribe.
Whether or not I sympathise with those points does not detract, in my opinion, from the point that the author unfortunately and repeatedly strayed from what was promising to be a useful and even-handed book.
Personally I found this very distracting, to the point that it became a chore to listen to.
Perhaps you might not find this trait as distracting as me, and you might enjoy this book for what I believe to be the underlying message.
For me, it was a huge disappointment.

A book to be returned to many times

This book crystallises the human experience and offers how one may improve their journey through a fresh viewpoint on mindset. It is joyful, challenging at times, but overall you feel positive and in safe hands for the duration. The author brings a remarkable set of references to weave into the stories.

No matter who you are, what you have experienced to date and what you’re want in your future, the stories and and ideas in this book will improve the way you approach every day.

A book to be returned to many times.
