Wow what a ride!

I’m not sure what to say about this one lol. I figured out who he was pretty fast but I didn’t expect things that happened in the history of who he is. And I absolutely LOVE how she calms both of them. It was definitely worth the read!!

This audio was perfect. Shane east and Evelyn rose did a fantastic job of bringing this dark, twisted, romantic and suspenseful story to light. The casting for the MCS couldn’t have been better. This story hooked me from the first line. It keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Laine was attacked but manages to escape. After her escape she receives letters from her captor making it known he’s still watching. She is determined to find out who he is and eliminates some individuals who aided in harming others along the way. Jaxon returns into Laine’s life after falling out earlier and he has his own secrets he keeps hidden. What happens when these two cross paths again? Read/ listen to this story to find out! It’s a wild ride. Please read the TW as there are some heavy topics in the story.

I still have no words after a week of listening to this book but I was hooked from the first chapter. Laine is no longer just prey—she’s become a force to be reckoned with, hunting in the same shadows that once terrified her. Jaxon Clémont, brilliant surgeon and untouchable billionaire, becomes her stalker, her obsession, and her ultimate test of strength. Their dangerous game is haunting, addictive, and impossible to pause.

Evelyn Rose’s performance as Laine was fierce and emotional, capturing every ounce of her survivor’s grit, while Shane East embodied Jaxon’s seductive menace and predatory charm so well it gave me chills. Together, they brought this story to life in a way that made every chapter pulse with tension.

What a dark twisted ride’

Omg, this book took me on a dark and twisted ride and the ending completely blew my mind. Nothing is as it seems. She is hunting the Ripper and drawing him out, but when she finally finds him I was absolutely stunned. I could not stop listening because it kept me on pins and needles the entire time. The audio performance added an incredible layer of tension and atmosphere, sending chills down my back in the best possible way.

Laine and Jaxon 🔥

This book is loosely based on Jack the Ripper and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and it was a perfect mix. We have Laine, who refuses to be a victim of her past and becomes a femme fatale. Jaxon, the morally grey surgeon, becomes fixated with Laine again while battling with his darker side to keep her safe. Honestly, I would have liked a bit more of the Ripper’s POV as well as Jaxon’s inner struggles. Overall, I enjoy the progression of the story and the inner turmoil of Laine, who is trying to come to terms with her attraction to Jaxon’s dark side. I enjoy their banter, his possessiveness, and the spicy.

The audio is done in duet style by Evelyn Rose and Shane East, who both did a perfect job of bringing this book to life. This is my first time listening to Shane East voicing a morally grey MMC and wow, was not disapointed. I do highly recommend listening to it. Thank you to VPR for the ALC copy. This is my honest opinion.
