Very helpful in understanding Fanon's work
This biography helped me appreciate the profoundness of Fanon's insights. Fanon's ideas are relevant today especially to anyone interested in understanding the errors of African revolutionary movements of the 20th century.

Nuanced overview of Fanon's life and work
This text offers an excellent overview of Fanon's life and work, considering his biography, intellectual influences, major works, minor works, and revolutionary activism. It highlights not only what he took from major thinkers like Hegel, Marx, Sartres, Merleau-Ponty, Cesaire, Senghor and others, but also how he differed from them. It also explains and clarifies many of the contradictions, controversies and misunderstandings that Fanon's work has generated over the years. It also devotes a whole chapter each to Fanon's most famous works, "Black Skin, White Masks" and "The Wretched of the Earth." This should be required listening for anyone interested in deepening their knowledge of this foundational thinker of race and colonialism.
