Sweet romance, but I wanted more excitement!

The heroine: Eva - she was raised in foster care, and spent years in an abusive home, locked in the attic, often beaten and mistreated. Now she had escaped that life and is attending an elite college in New York city on a scholarship. She is on the cheerleading squad, and has since met Damon, Mason and Beckham, three wealthy and successful men and she is drawn to all three of them.

The Heroes: Damon - he is the star quarterback at Rothmore. He met Eva first and had dated her, though they had a falling out after she caught him in flagranté delicto with an ex-girlfriend. He had hidden wings and could fly.
Mason - he is the lead singer in a band called The Riot and took Eva out on an unexpected and extravagant date to the Grammy’s where he performed and won more than a few awards. His power was his voice.
Beckham - He is the third friend and a big movie star. He met Eva at the Grammy’s, he called her his queen, and she fainted as soon as she saw him. He had the power of persuasion, but didn’t know what he was, though he knew he was immortal

The Story: Eva keeps dreaming about another life, and her dreams have become hallucinations even when she is awake. After meeting the three guys, she feels a deep connection to each of them like they belonged to each other and had done so for ages. Beckham was also having flashes of scenes in his mind as well, all of which featured Eva and seemed more like memories than anything else, though he doesn’t know from where or when.

This book goes further into the supernatural and Eva’s paranormal abilities and qualities start to really come out. She always knew that she was different in that she healed remarkably fast from the abuse she suffered and when her foster mother cut her hair off, it grew back overnight. However, in this book as she gets closer to the age of 18, she really starts to have things happen. She starts to glow at times, and her ability to hear sounds and conversations from far away picks up. She also sees more of the paranormal qualities of those around her. I have to say though, despite the sweet romances she is having with each of her three guys, I got a bit bored at times during this book.

This audiobook was told from multiple points of view and was done in dual narration. Dual narration always makes audiobooks feel more immersive. Felicity Monroe's expressive style paired with Nelson Hobbs’ varied character voices seems like a solid match; he did a great job with Beckham’s British accent as well; I am not sure if he is actually British or American. I usually prefer a deeper voice in male narrators for romance—I think it adds more weight to those emotionally charged moments, though I did really like Nelson Hobbs’ voice.

The way I had to keep turning these pages and to know what came next! Absolutely devoured it! CR Jane knows how to really get you hooked on a storyline and all the Easter eggs

It was okay!

Intriguing story, definitely slow going with the build of it but not bad. Give it 3.5 stars.

Fell flat for me

This was free & sounded interesting. I stuck it out bc I listened to the first book. Not a big fan of it all the way around. I do think it was a bit better than the first. Narrators voice grew on me but I’m still not a fan of Eva or her voice.

I loved the story and narrators but the female lead is weak. it is disappointing how weak she is

I’m not a big fan of this specific book in this series. It did get some answers, but I think I have more questions now.

Love this series.

I can’t say enough. This series is interesting and intriguing. I love Eva and the Guys. The flash backs are awesome and I can really picture everything. The narrators are great.

separate books for no reason

these books are short and could easily be 2 books. the age of the fmc is just an excuse for her to be naive

Pathetic female main character. No spice

I don’t like how there is absolutely no spice, just alluding to spice and how the female main character has no backbone or fight in her at all. I also hate that she’s so stereotypical skinny blond cheerleader.
