A great story that keeps you interested

Would you consider the audio edition of Forced Ascent to be better than the print version?

I only have time for audio, truck driver with 8 hours aday driving. Love audio books and this series is great

What other book might you compare Forced Ascent to and why?

Love the whole series, this one is sort of stand alone with the many different characters and each has a role to play.

Which scene was your favorite?

Well the part where they save the hostages, and hand out some revenge

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

not sure this is a good title of the book

Any additional comments?

Look forward to reading all the rest and hope that Mr Conroe will keep writing them. Look forward the next ones

Dissapointing and Annoying ending :/

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

no not alone, the ending is just to bad and removes the main drag of the serie...

Would you be willing to try another book from John Conroe? Why or why not?

yes, because all the other books in the serie was awesome up to this point

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

if it was part of the rest of the serie properly... depend how the next book is, if it follows the bad of this book instead of bringing the good back i wouldnt.

Any additional comments?

I’ve loved the series all up to the end of this book… which just seems too stupid to believe -.-

They basically destroy the majority of what we have learned about the main character, destroying all the abilities we seen him gain, removing all the skills, intelligence and even the reactionary pattern of him doesn’t make sense to the rest of the books and up to this point.
It truly just destroys the Charm and awesome feeling of the main char being Super overpowered and send him back to being nothing more than a basic supernatural power… it is really damn sad……

Not sure why the author decided to suddenly go the direct opposite routed of the rest of the books….

Anyway the rest of the serie before this was awesome, this book was good besides the personality changes of his “bad side”, and the ending “makeup” with the usa. Which was both just stupid and silly

SPOILER!!!!!!!!! SPOILER!!!!!!!!! SPOILER!!!!!!!!! SPOILER!!!!!!!!! SPOILER!!!!!!!!! SPOILER!!!!!!!!! SPOILER!!!!!!!!! SPOILER!!!!!!!!! SPOILER!!!!!!!!! SPOILER!!!!!!!!! SPOILER!!!!!!!!! SPOILER!!!!!!!!!

I mean seriously, knocked out by gas?? His immune to sicknesses, he can only be poisoned by uranium, he can heal half his head in mili-seconds (but apparently the healing ignores the effect of gas ehem -.-) and even uranium have minor effect on him, and the speed gas would flow in would be snail slow compared to the speed of the main char….
Also his bad side refusing to kill now when there is direct danger, even though we know from earlier books it learned that holding back will get it killed -.- so makes no sense….
Seriously it’s the “be weak and useless because I need it for the plot” setup which was just beyond stupid :(

Excellent read

John Conroe's series, "The Demon Accords," keeps getting better and better. If you are a fan of the Harry Dresden seres, give this series a try. Christian like Dresden keeps getting himself into deeper trouble.

Getting better

Love the series! I did not think it would keep the twist and turns going, but I was happily proven wrong

Demons, Halloween, and Corrupt Government...

Forced Ascent
The Demon Accords, Book 7
By: John Conroe
Narrated by: James Patrick Cronin
It is Halloween and not only is Chris fighting the demons but the corrupt government! What? We have a corrupt government? Say it isn't so! They want to control Chris and use him. They think is smart to take his god-daughter or his woman....(evil laugh)...sure, true that, see how that works! I love this series!
Love the narrator too. Good all the way around!

Conroe Is Finally Hitting his Stride

Conroe is very funny, but his prior books, while very readable, have always suffered from weakish plotting. Still worth reading, but this book, Forced Accent really gets everything right. The reader is excellent and I would recommend all of the audio books if you like Urban Fantasy.

Demon Accords rocks

Any additional comments?

This is a good series. I have read it in its entirety and have not gotten bored. In this book Chris is facing the wrath of Washington DC after he dropped an asteroid on a compound in the country in the last book. The President is not pleased.

A Thought

As these books progress I became hesitant on the direction towards the biblical. But honestly it is not going that way. A restructuring of my thoughts towards the descriptions used is what is needed. Don't get me wrong, the stories are good and I do like how they progress. Why else would I keep listening to the series.

really?

I started really liking the series, until.
1.declan arrived.
2.that all the plots are the same, uncle sam calls, they come running to help like a good little American, then get shat on by the government.
that's it. it becomes so anoying, they do good, fighting evil. but come running back to the most evil thing of all the American government.
stupid, unrealistic and really really annoying.
the narration was excellent.
should have been an excellent series but the blind faith and attitude of the us gov makes it ridiculous and annoying.

Well written and fun to listen to

Would you listen to Forced Ascent again? Why?

Yes because the book was filled with humour, excitement and very insightful

Who was your favorite character and why?

Arcadia

What does James Patrick Cronin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Just listening meant I could close my eyes imagine the characters. It is so well written that this is made easy and enjoyable.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes I felt the sadness and the joy.
