Publisher's Summary

Andy Tyler has been the class daredevil since middle school. Over the years, he’s convinced his best friend, Jake Masterson, to perform some dangerous-looking stunts with him. But the dare they attempt on the night of their college graduation goes sideways. The firecrackers explode too soon and both of them end up with badly burned palms.

But hey, nothing gets the “terrible duo” down for long, and they recuperate in style at Andy’s family cottage in Nantucket. As the weeks go by, both Andy and Jake grow frustrated over the inability to use their hands for all sorts of daily activities—including getting off. So Andy begins a new series of dares that don’t just cross the friendship line, they obliterate it.

But what might be mere sexual relief to Andy is serious business to Jake, who only recently got over years of secret pining for his straight best friend. Inevitably, the burns heal, summer ends, and hearts are broken. To fix things, Andy will have to face the greatest dare of all.

Mediocre

I've read better fan fiction. The writing is sloppy and feels unedited. The author will give you information and in the next paragraph will give you the information again as if you didnt hear it the first time. The voice actor faulters character voice from time to time, making it impossible to tell who's saying what unless you use context clues and listen to the lines more than once. If youre looking for a really good queer romance book, move on to the next one. If you're looking for smut and an okay plot youre at the right place.

Drama Thine Name be Love

I have felt the need to cry over reading a book so much until I read this I was truly an awe how moving and just diverse the plot was one minute you're thinking that there everything's going to work out the next minute you think the world is going to end for them and then the next everything works out up after all the ups and downs of this story remind me so much of my own life and how I long for something like this in my life this book has truly moved me and I'm really thankful that I got a chance to listen to it this author is truly worth hearing more from I hope that similar stories like this become as popular as I hope this one becomes in the days to come.

good story, not what I expected though

Good story, but the premise was lacking. I found most of the physical portions luke-warm at best.

Love love love!

What an emotional roller coaster. It was so good that I finished it in two days. The HEA ending is better than I thought could be possible and left me with hope and joy. Long live the Andy and Jake show!

Short and Cute

Unsure if I would prefer it longer or like it at just this length. either way, it got all the points across and was able to wrapup with a HEA. if u want something short, sweet, funny, and steamy this is a book you would like.

Cute and off-beat.

Usually I’m dissatisfied with shorter length stories. If it’s under 8 hours read time, it usually leaves loose ends or has abrupt transitions. But this story was perfect. Not too much angst, just enough to make it feel legit for the circumstances the MCs find themselves in. Both MCs were likable and none of the family members were monsters. Plot was interesting and felt like a different take on the Gay for You sub genre. Very enjoyable read.

Emotional

The love between two best friends and how their love grows before they even realize their love for each other. An emotional yet well told story of young love, the ups and downs of relationships.

One of my Favorites

I was looking for a nice positive story and this one really fit the bill. It's sweet with a slow burn that culminates with a white hot relationship with very little angst and a quite a few interesting plot twists. It kept me hooked and I had a hard time putting it down even past my bed time. I had to listen to it again and found that I missed a few things the first time. I'm so glad I found it.

Cute and sweet - I dare you to listen to this!

Andy Tyler likes to take risks. Jake Masterson can always see the manic gleam in his best friend’s eye when he’s about to propose another dangerous stunt, usually talking Jake into doing it too. The guys have been inseparable best friends since middle school and now it’s time to go their separate ways. Andy proposes a final dare that lands them both in hospital and the long convalescence gives them time to finally explore their feelings for each other. I loved this bisexual-awakening romance, it was just what the doctor ordered! The tone is light, fun, and steamy with deep underlying affection. The storyline starts with the final dare and follows its repercussions, with flashbacks to previous dares to highlight the bromance between these two loveable risk-takers. Audio narrator Tristan Josiah was absolutely perfect - great humour and emotion, and his voice sounded just the right age.
