Acerca de esta escucha
In medieval England, duty is everything, personal honor is more valued than life itself, and homosexuality is not tolerated by the church or society.
Sir Christian Brandon was raised in a household where he was hated for his unusual beauty and for his parentage. Being smaller than his six brutish half-brothers, he learned to survive by using his wits and his gift for strategy, earning him the nickname the Crow.
Sir William Corbett, a large and fierce warrior known as the Lion, has pushed his unnatural desires down all his life. He's determined to live up to his own ideal of a gallant knight. When he takes up a quest to rescue his sister from her abusive lord of a husband, he's forced to enlist the help of Sir Christian. It's a partnership that will test every strand of his moral fiber, and, eventually, his understanding of the meaning of duty, honor, and love.

1333. Edward III is at war with Scotland. Nineteen-year-old Sir Harry de Lyon yearns to prove himself and jumps at the chance when a powerful English baron, William Montagu, invites him on a secret mission with a dozen elite knights. They ride north, to a crumbling Scottish keep, capturing a feral, half-starved boy within and putting the other inhabitants to the sword. But nobody knows why the flower of English knighthood snuck over the border to capture a savage, dirty teenage boy. Montagu gives the boy to Harry as his squire, with only two rules.

I have to stop replaying the one night I spent with my rival. Trouble is, that white-hot encounter with the other quarterback answered a lot of questions I’ve had about myself, but it also led me into this mess where he hates me. Life has been easy for me. Top of my class. Star quarterback of the football team. Every guy wants to be my friend, and every girl wants to date me. Yeah, life is pretty sweet. Except it’s not. It’s all fake. School comes too easy for me, and I’m bored. Football isn’t fun anymore. The guys I hang out with aren’t really my friends. And the girls? I don’t want to date them. The only one I want to date... He’s a little bit...hostile.

Any additional comments?
I will admit I was hesitant for this audio book - not only because it's a historical romance, which can be an iffy thing when dealing with M/M unless it's AU, but because when I listened to the sample the narrator, Scott Richard Ehredt, sounded like a stuffy old British guy who would bore me to death. God, was I wrong!Scott Richard Ehredt is PERFECT. He blew me away. Seriously...Blew. Me. Away.
The characters and time (late 1200's to early 1300's) are beautifully, and even lovingly, portrayed. The only thing I didn't love about this was the ending (even though it totally fits). The ending killed me. I hated the ending. I wish someone had warned me.
RECOMMENDED!
Scott Richard Ehredt is PERFECT

I have not found many gay love stories is written in this era and I found the author did a grand job of making a story that was like walking into the past. It'll catch you...I had to wade thru some boggy beginnings, but as this author unfolds the lives of these characters, it got better and I'm glad I heard it...I didn't return it.I really liked this one...

If you could sum up The Lion and the Crow in three words, what would they be?
Intelligent, Sexy, EngagingWhat other book might you compare The Lion and the Crow to and why?
I haven't read anything like this in the romance genre before!Which character – as performed by Scott Richard Ehredt – was your favorite?
I liked William the best. I thought Christian acted a little foolish at times.Any additional comments?
I've been a fan of the author for 20 years but haven't read any of her romance books. This didn't disappoint. She brings intelligence and good writing to the m/m romance genre. The historical setting feels authentic. It was hard to 'put down', I almost read it in one setting but had to sleep! It'll take me a while to get the scene at the river out of my head ;) Looking forward to reading some of her other titles. My only criticism is that I think it should have ended when they go to the castle in Scotland, but mostly because I like happy endings and would like to picture them living 'happily ever after'.Didn't Disappoint

What is really surprising is the author changed the ending from the ebook. The story spans their lifetime together and I thought the ending in the audio version was more realistic. The epilogue was longer and more detail, but the ultimate end was the same as the ebook, just in a different way. Be warned, It is a tear jerker, but a smiling tear jerker.
Wonderful

Who was your favorite character and why?
It would have to be Christian The Crow...so witty.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes, the ending was a shock. It brought to light the feeling of true love and finding your soul mate; that life is not worth living without ones better half.Any additional comments?
I've read this book at least 4 times since I've purchased it (Sept 2015) ...and every single time I cry.Unexpected.

Something of the early 1300s intrigued me well how this story find its place. It does. It did. Christian reminds me so much of this almost forgotten book I read since I was in high school. The beauty of his wits just personify well his entire being. You think he can't stand against maelstroms of threat; physical and mental, and some tirade of inner political struggles, nope your wrong. Here goes William, whose roots you can't begin to fathom but as soon as that spark between him and Christian ignited you know where it is going but to how much extent you'd be surprised. The ending was just my taste. It's pretty disheartening for some but I was glad I had to witness it written that way. The plot was not too thick but just write to drive the story and there are some surprises I almost yelped from knowing. The scenes between Christian and William is intense at the least and the way Eli Easton wrote it is just creative in the old way. I love that. This is a must try for anyone.
My only qualm is that I hoped it was longer. The premise has just so much potential and the author nailed it. I'm only saying this for reasons I'm actually craving for more, but this complaint is almost negligible as the story and performance were overall compressed in this beautifully that I didn't regret buying this, let alone exchange it for something else.
Creative in the old way
