Publisher's summary
Post-apocalyptic fiction by N.C. Reed.
Clayton Sanders left home the minute he had his high school diploma in hand. He waited that long only because the army wouldn't accept him without one. Now, 10 years later, he's home. Home with no warning, no advance notice, no anything after being gone 10 years with almost no contact with his family. Home carrying a secret that is burning him up from the inside. A secret that has pushed him to the brink, forcing him to become a criminal in order to be where his family needs him to be, even though they don't realize it yet. Because Clayton knows something they don't. Something that hasn't happened, but will. Something that will burn everything it touches. And change the face of the world forever.

Story
Three terrorist attacks are launched from freighters against the United States. Only one fully succeeds, but in the blink of an eye all of the country west of the Rocky Mountains is transformed into the technological equivalent of the 18th century - no electricity, no computers, no electronics of anykind, or any of the amenities of modern life that depend on them. This is the story of ordinary and extraordinary people, high and low, who struggle to survive in a mortally wounded nation, as America's enemies within and without circle for the kill.

Story
From "the master of alternate history" comes a new trilogy that reimagines a mid-20th century in which General MacArthur, without bothering to consult President Truman, detonates nuclear warheads in several Manchurian cities after China enters the Korean War. In his acclaimed novels of alternate history, Harry Turtledove has scrutinized the twisted soul of the 20th century, from the forces that set World War I in motion to the rise of fascism in the decades that followed.

Businesses are starting to reopen, the school has re-commenced classes, and local farmers are gradually repossessing their land. But it's not the same Australia as before the war. A new nation exists just a few miles away, a new border that separates Australia from its invaders. Or does it?

Horror, Humor, and Heroes is a collection of twelve short stories, one novella, and a preview for my next novel that should contain enough variety to entertain you readers. SYLO's commander, Captain Granger, informs Pemberwick residents that the island has been hit by a lethal virus and must be quarantined. Tucker believes there’s more to SYLO’s story. He was on the sidelines when the high school running back dropped dead with no warning. He saw the bizarre midnight explosion over the ocean, and the mysterious singing aircraft that travel like shadows through the night sky. He tasted the Ruby - and experienced the powers it gave him - for himself.

The abandoned vessels also contained a wealth of advanced technology. Led by David Levinson, the greatest minds of our world developed deadly new hybrid weapons. here's another good book. Not the best of them but not.. the thing I like the best is the deal with people. People in bad spots. People are we doing here and I like the fact that instead of a bunch of cannibalistic Raiders,
then taking us to see force of nature. Pretty book worth spending money on

Enjoying the Sanders family saga of post apocalyptic life
I have really enjoyed reading about the challenges facing the world after “the lights went out.” Life proves to be extremely challenging and clearly only the strong survive. At first I was not a real fan of Lee Alan’s narration but now I am convinced that he is perfect for this series. As listeners we should be willing to try new readers. If I had not taken a chance, in spite of several bad reviews, I would have missed an intriguing story of survival of the fittest and strong family loyalty.

Great Series, can't wait till the next book comes
I finished all 3 books in this series in less then a week, great story. Only thing that could have made it better is if it was narrated by Kevin Pierce, which by no means is a dig on Lee Allen, because he does a great job, but Kevin Pierce just does end of the world like no other.

Recommendation - A Good Series to Listen or Read
I liked the Kindle and am always impatiently waiting for the Audible. Yes I purchase both as the Kindle comes out first :-) People who are interested in apocalypse CME/EMP disasters will enjoy reading and or listening to this series, which Book 1 hooks you from the start. Engaging Story and Performance
This series is very enjoyable. I have just finished book 8 so I am going to use this comment for all reviews. The story draws you into the family as if you are part of the Sanders clan. I was hooked by Odd Billy Todd and then the Parno books and honestly this series is now my favorite series of all time. Book one started off slow for me but by the end of book one, I was coming back for more. The author is truly a very good story writer. There are some slow points but what you think is a slow point will turn around later to be the background for the more riveting parts. It's hard to find good stories with characters you care about but not here. Some people have complained about the performance in some of the later books, hearing background noises and yes there are some but I miss the narrator as I am now on another book and I miss this series, I miss this family and even the narrator. I think it was an excellent performance, the old man's voice, Clay's voice, Brick, all the voices are very good. I highly recommend this series.
