Great Narrators! Very fun Spice.

Had a good time with this book, the little girl was so cute! Fionn was incredibly done. This couple should do more books together!! But, two things: 1. Why isn’t he speaking with an Irish accent?! Total miss. Even if it was light, would have taken this story to the next level. Love Irish mafia stories but they need accents. Otherwise it’s just a mafia story. Not enough Gaelic either.
2. And this is for ALL narrators, if fashion or car brand names are mentioned, just look up their correct pronunciations. So many ‘rich’ characters don’t say designer names correctly and it’s silly.

OMG I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT HOLY SMOKES! I kind of figured it’d be a close betrayal similar to the last one but WOW I was NOT expecting it to be HER. Great read :)

Amara is 19 and Fionn is 31 whenever they first meet. Several time jumps around chapter 15. 5 years total. FMC 24 MMC 36 whenever they meet back up.
Amara has had to work hard for every single thing in her life. She had to drop out of school to support her mother. Life has really beaten her down and when her boyfriend takes her away for a trip, she doesn’t expect to catch him cheating…Fionn steps in and they end spending a very steamy night together. She gives a fake name and disappears….
She accidentally witnesses him killing someone, realizes it’s him and decides she was all wrong about him… she flees for her life. Before she can run with their daughter, he catches up to her with intentions of killing her. Only when he realizes it’s HER, and that they have a daughter, he decides they’re getting married and he wants into her pants.

Extremely interesting story line

Woah woah woah. Didn’t see that twist. Narrators did great except the kid voice, makes me cringe.

This was brilliant

Each time I read another book in this universe I love it. These characters are well written and the story is great. This little section of the universe has me addicted.

Not my favorite of the series!!
Fionn is the typical younger mmc of the bunch who is ruthless, irrational and just crazy.

So at a wedding he has a ONS and our fmc takes off!!!! The number of years that goes on between these 2 and the reasons why was so frustrating to read!!!

There’s one aspect I know a lot of people cannot stand in this book but based on the plot and dynamic of our two characters is actually makes perfect sense for this story

I almost didn’t read this one given the negative reviews but the parts mentioned were minuscule and didn’t detract from the story at all. If you love the other savage kings you can’t go wrong with this one

Okay, based on the back of the book, I fully thought the MFC was going to be some forgotten mafia princess — and while that’s not where the story went, I was still into it. There is a surprise baby, so if that’s not your thing, consider this your warning. But personally? I loved it. Plus, there’s a twist toward the end that totally caught me off guard — in the best way.

My biggest issue with the MFC was how much of a pushover she was with her mom. I was literally yelling at her to leave. Especially after the whole dog situation. Like girl, go live with your bestie. You deserve peace. Thankfully, once she found out she was pregnant, she started to grow a spine, which made her way more enjoyable to read.

Now, let’s talk timeline. I had a big issue with the gap between her and the MMC reconnecting — years passed. They were vacationing when they met (she was there with her ex), and yes, they used fake names, but her ex paid using his dad’s credit card. And the MMC owns the hotel. You’re telling me he couldn’t pull the card info, trace the ex, and find her sooner? The man is rich, obsessed, and has mafia-level resources. It was a plot hole that made me pause.

That said, I loved how immediately obsessed Fionn (MMC) was. He never got over her, never moved on. He was loyal the entire time they were apart — obsessed in a deliciously intense, high-quality way. Top shelf behavior.

Now maybe I’m toxic, but I hate when MFCs get all shocked that their mafia husband kills someone who deserved it. Your professor was sexually harassing you, and you’re mad he handled it? Girl. No. I need a morally grey queen to match her morally grey king — I’ll be hunting for that in my next read.

One last thing: the play club storyline felt randomly inserted. With everything else going on — mafia, surprise baby, second chance, fake names, betrayal, secret identities — it was just one trope too many.

🎧 Narration: Male narrator was fantastic. Female narrator nailed the MFC’s voice, but whenever she voiced another woman, it was giving Roz from Monsters Inc. — super gravelly, super distracting. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it did pull me out a few times.

Really good story

This was not the typical Mafia story. It was more like a day in the life of a woman struggling, who fell in love with a mafia man. It was a long story and a lot of b things didn’t turn out the way I thought it would. There was a big plot twist towards the end but it wasn’t as climatic as I thought it would be. Still a good story and great narrators.

Too long w/o scenes together

WAY too long that they are not in any scenes together. The book is romance book, yet, it just keeps going on and on without any interaction between them. It's very off-putting. Will Watt I believe is the main narrator and his voice is incredibly sexy. The ending before the epilogue was not believable and far fetched. I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series!
