Awesome Story & Narration🎧 Thrilling & Diabolical

Wow, this story just blew me away, it sucked me in right from the start, grabbed my attention and held it hostage for the entire book. It is my first book written by Lilian Harris and it definitely will not be my last, I hope to hear more of her books on audio soon. She is a gifted author with a wonderful writing style and a creative mind, I loved the originality of this story, she takes you into a mafia world but she does not make it all about the mafia, but as an outsider looking in, that said the world building and character development is phenomenal. Chiara Bianchi and Dominick Cavaleri were best friends despite her father forbidding her to spend time with him, he thought the Cavaleri family were trash and did not want her associating with them. Dominick’s family owned the bakery and Chiara’s mother knew they were good people and allowed her to spend time with her friend and hid that from her father. Chiara’s father was ruthless and was cruel to them both, abusive too. Her mother was looking for a way to get them out and promised her it would be soon. But her controlling father goes off the rails and it forever changed both Chiara and Dominicks life. I loved everything about this book and how it all played out. It is a cleverly plotted story with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and some steamy romance. Lilian Harris, thank you for this amazing story and the wild and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧And for the amazing narration, Gideon Frost and Lessa Lamb are wonderfully talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They were the perfect cast to bring these characters and story to life, and did so with a complete understanding of each character they portrayed and were believable in every role they played. Lessa Lamb’s Chiara was fantastic, she grew with the role as she aged, from a child to adulthood, and she grasped all sides of her personality thru those years as well, from a frightened child all the way to the confident, strong woman she became. Gideon Frost did the same for Dominick, varying his voice thru the years and becoming the hardened, alpha boss he became. Both were great performing the roles of all the secondary and support characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to, and their narration enhanced this already brilliant story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

This is the first book in the Cavaleri Brothers series. Dom and Chiara were best friends since the first time they met. Chiara’s father was a bad man. He is the boss of the Palermo Mafia family. Dom witnessed the horrific murder of his father and little brother. He took is other brothers and ran. He swore he would do whatever it takes to revenge his family. Fifteen years later and it is time to start his plan to seek his revenge. Dom and Chiara never forgot about each other over the years. Lessa Lamb and Gideon Frost did a phenomenal job narrating this book. I can’t wait to listen to book two!

Loved this couple

I really liked this book. Looking forward to book 2, I didn’t see a book 2 listed and this one was finished in 2022. Is there going to be a book 2?

This was all kinds of wonderful, dark, thrilling, delicious, drool-worthy, heartbreaking and exciting……

WONDERFUL because best friends Dominic and Chiara, inseparable since third grade, get ruthlessly torn apart from each other at thirteen by a cruel, dangerous manipulative father with blood soaked hands.. and it’s been wonderful listening to their all-consuming Bianchi vs Cavaleri rollercoaster of a second-chance.

DARK because the present-day twenty-eight year old Dominic, with his identity, brothers and powerful Syndicate cloaked, is a very different person from his undamaged thirteen year old self. Now he’s rich, ruthless, determined, hate-filled and bloody revenge on the whole Bianchi family fuels his cold dead heart.

THRILLING because Chiara has grown up in her father’s threatening world and now, at twenty-eight, she’s strong, intelligent and feisty. So she know she’s in deep trouble when she’s kidnapped by the handsome, sexy stranger she’d been flirting with that night.. but she has a plan.

DELICIOUS because captive and hostage push ‘n pull the tense, toxic, combustible sexual chemistry that wraps around each one of their charged interactions.

DROOL-WORTHY because the demands, threats, touches, feisty barbs and dirty talk leads to all kinds of sizzles, fireworks and highly-charged sexy moans and groans.

HEARTBREAKING because, below the ashes of deep wounds, rise tentative new roots which will be severely damaged by their deadly enemy. And the secrets, betrayals and mistruths between them will also threaten their hard-won new roots.. and their rekindled love.

And finally EXCITING because this new to me author’s talented world-building, imagination and abilities captured my heart and soul and her action-packed, sweet, brutal, beautiful, full of feels second-chance rollercoaster blew me away. And the characters and their twists and turns were all skilfully brought to life by Gideon and Lessa whose enjoyable dual pov narration entertained me as I cooked and cleaned the day away engulfed in a star-crossed lover’s second chance.

Worth a credit? Yes definitely.. but this happy couple’s happy end has a tbc cliffhanger that will lead to Dante Cavaleri’s story.
