Publisher's summary

The controversial Battle at Xa Long Tan was not only a critical episode in Australia's Vietnam involvement; it was also a textbook nightmare in the history of jungle warfare. Reconstructing this dramatic action from secret documents and the vivid recollections of many diggers who fought at Long Tan, Terry Burstall challenges the official army version.

Nice to have something about Long Tan on Audible

Nice that the awareness of Long Tan is growing in international markets. The Anzacs fought bravely and this is a worthy story to be told.

This book is pretty good. However, I wish that Australians didn’t look so negatively at their time in Vietnam.

The war their might have been convoluted, but their service was brave, courageous, and honorable. Any time a soldier goes down range for his country, for whatever reason, those men should feel proud of themselves and I hope this story getting out there helps them get some of that recognition. Then maybe Australia will get those men that still battle with their time in Vietnam the help they may need.
