Publisher's Summary

Discover Dr. Aleron Kong, the Father of American LitRPG! Number one in cyberpunk and video game science fiction! Over 1700 positive reviews on Goodreads!

When Richter was drawn into the greatest virtual reality MMORPG ever created, it seemed like a dream come true...until he found that nightmares walked The Land. He was confronted not only with a life and death struggle, but also with questions that would define his very soul.

What would you do if you were transported into your favorite video game?

What would you do if the gore, adventure, and pain became real?

What would you do to win?

Richter confronted these questions while an enemy lay savaged and screaming at his feet. His lips pulled back in a blood-streaked smile. The answer was simple.

"Absolutely anything...."

Welcome my friends! Welcome...to The Land!

    "Excellent"

The narration is amazing, the main character doesn't sound like a teenager like he use too, but an actual adult, in his mid twenties. Sion doesn't sound annoying anymore; really all the things I didn't like about the first narration of this book were fixed.

I don't really care for the sounds before stat & explanation windows, just a bit overdone.

My favorite character voice is Mama, "Don't lie to Mama!" but they are well done. Nick Podehl has done great work in "The Gam3" and other fantasy book, and hopefully will continue working with both series.

Loved the new version of the audiobook the narrator really helped to bring the book to life.

I have read up till book six and love the series but love audiobooks so that they are able to bring the story to life. Looking forward to more of the books in the series to be brought to life.

    "Excellent American LitRPG!"

In a field mostly dominated by Russian authors it seems, it's nice to have an excellent addition to the American take on the genre, which seems to be more focused on community and moralizing than personal progression and aggrandizement, giving it more seriousness and depth vs a humorous, boastful tone, It was an exciting adventure, and I found myself having trouble putting it down to go to sleep.. It has a pretty unique world and interface, and I am definitely intrigued by the over-arching plot.

It seems like this genre has two main development focuses: individual skills/progression and team/empire building. Some series focus on one more so than the other, but this has a good mix of both along with a healthy dose of permanent consequences.

Nick Podehl is one of my favorite readers for young adult books, and he certainly does not disappoint here! He makes the story come alive like few readers can. Originally, the author published this book with Guy Williams narrating, and he was good as always, but Nick adds a whole new layer of emotion and drama, which was not present with the other performance. In spite of owning the other version, it was certainly worth purchasing this new one, especially since the author has ~5 more books in the series already out, and intends on having them all released with Nick as the reader! I can't wait for the next one!

    "Refreshingly awesome adventure!"

One of the best listens I've had this year. A new favorite for me. The author and narrator take you on and adventure the likes of which you can only
Imagine. Be transported into a world so expansive that it will take Wars and many novels to explore. The protagonist has been transported into
This game. An in depth RPG with all the quests skills and items that one could hope for. Entertaining and amazing to watch the character grow as he levels up and allocates points. Really great story told very well. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

    "Welcome to the Land!!!"

Ok so if you have never listened to or read a litrpg your in for a treat!

Aleron Kong does an amazing job of world building, character development, funny real world reference "alot of the litrpg out is russian based and some of the references mean little to the English crowd". If you have ever played an mmo and thought man I want to live in this world than this book is for you! The Land is a vibrant world with amazing characters "Sion is my favorite"! Nick Podehl is the narrator and his performance is great, the sound effects are spot on.

I won't give you any spoilers but if your even remotely interested in the summary give this book a go and you will fall in love!

"One of the best LitRPG stories"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It's short and fun. Unlike others, this story moves along surprisingly fast and while still allowing for many events to take place.

I listened the original audiobook and of course I enjoyed the storyline, but I was a little uncertain about the audiobook. I read all of other books out and I can't wait until the rest of the audiobooks. Nick good job and Aleron well done as always.

"The absolute best litRPG read the book first"
Would you listen to The Land: Founding: A LitRPG Saga again? Why?

    Yep,
There is no spot in this book that makes me want to skip over so rereading or listening to this over and over would get dull.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Land: Founding: A LitRPG Saga?

I can't think of just one because all of the book is good.

Which character – as performed by Nick Podehl – was your favorite?

Richter and Sion are the best by play characters in the book and you can't talk about one without the other.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Hell yeah but I had to work in the morning so no go.

    Any additional comments?

Can't wait till Audio book 2 and kindle book 7. :)

    "Surprisingly brilliant!"

I wasn't sure about this book reading the synopsis, but honestly loved it! Can't wait for the next book in the series! The characters are easily relatable and anyone who's played RPG's will understand exactly what's going on, we would all change places with the characters any day!

What did you like most about The Land: Founding: A LitRPG Saga?

This is a great introduction to the series. I have read all the books and cant wait to hopefully have the whole series on audiobook to liven up boring car and tube journeys.

What does Nick Podehl bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Nick Podehl is great at making the different characters there own and bringing the world to life,

    Any additional comments?

Really looking forward to the next one.
