Publisher's Summary

The acclaimed debut novel of the best-selling LitRPG Saga, Chaos Seeds, from the father of American LitRPG, Aleron Kong.

#1 in Cyberpunk and Video Game Fantasy

Over THREE THOUSAND positive reviews on Goodreads

In The Land: Founding, the first volume of the award-winning Chaos Seeds saga, the Exiles and Eternals toy with the lives of unwitting humans. Gamers sign away their souls in unread contracts as they log online each day. One at a time, these people are stolen, mind and soul, into a world of magic and adventure that operates by the same laws as the game they worshiped at for years.

Through days of blood and nights of horror, Richter makes both enemies and allies. After witnessing a death, as horrible as it was senseless, he decides that simple survival is not enough. He will found a kingdom all his own. As his power grows, however, so too does the list of killers that want what he has created. To survive, he must come to grips with his own mortality and morality, and learn what all true warriors come to discover.

Both cannot always survive.

"Are you a killer or a king?" they asked.

His answer... "Is there a difference?"

    "Welcome to the Land!!!"

Ok so if you have never listened to or read a litrpg your in for a treat!

Aleron Kong does an amazing job of world building, character development, funny real world reference "alot of the litrpg out is russian based and some of the references mean little to the English crowd". If you have ever played an mmo and thought man I want to live in this world than this book is for you! The Land is a vibrant world with amazing characters "Sion is my favorite"! Nick Podehl is the narrator and his performance is great, the sound effects are spot on.

I won't give you any spoilers but if your even remotely interested in the summary give this book a go and you will fall in love!

    "Excellent"

The narration is amazing, the main character doesn't sound like a teenager like he use too, but an actual adult, in his mid twenties. Sion doesn't sound annoying anymore; really all the things I didn't like about the first narration of this book were fixed.

I don't really care for the sounds before stat & explanation windows, just a bit overdone.

My favorite character voice is Mama, "Don't lie to Mama!" but they are well done. Nick Podehl has done great work in "The Gam3" and other fantasy book, and hopefully will continue working with both series.

Loved the new version of the audiobook the narrator really helped to bring the book to life.

I have read up till book six and love the series but love audiobooks so that they are able to bring the story to life. Looking forward to more of the books in the series to be brought to life.

    "Phenomenal!"

I was skeptical. Even through the first ten minutes or so but it quickly became apparent that this story is nothing short of riveting.

What's more is that it's so enjoyable that you won't feel like a basement dweller giving in to some guilty pleasure.

    It's escapism at its finest.

    "surprised!"

I didn't think I would like it. I went out on a limb just because I was bored, and I'm so glad I did. Completely different than anything I've ever been exposed to. I had no idea it had anything to do with a game or whatever, but I thoroughly enjoyed the book.
I will certainly be buying the next one as soon as I can!

I'd never before heard of litRPG and was wonderfully impressed with both the concept and the delivery. The story was engaging, the narration superb! Loved the sounds effects, too. Going to buy the next book now...

    "Excellent World Creation"
What made the experience of listening to The Land: Founding: A LitRPG Saga the most enjoyable?

I am a fan of the Anime series "Sword Art Online" and I see this as another extension of that type of series. I am also a fan of "Ready Player One" and I see links into that universe and dimensions (Like the Dr. Who bag of holding).

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ricktor (John) I do not know if the author read "White Gold Wielder" where a person from another world is dropped into a fantasy land but I can see a parallel to that world also.

Which character – as performed by Nick Podehl – was your favorite?

    I like the Sword Master!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Well, the cutting off of a guys junk and stuffing in down his throat made me cringe!

    Any additional comments?

I thought at first the announcements of skills and leveling up would be annoying however I started to enjoy it pretty quickly and look forward to it. You are told of another level that controls The Land that you keep looking for hints to it. At first, it was suggested it was the Christion Hell however it changes to something else.

After a quick purchase while on my way out of the country to the sun I wasn't expecting much. The combination of smart writing and an interesting plot idea has left me buying the next few books in the series.

"Possibly the best book i've ever read"

I've finished this book in 24 hours, that's how much I loved it.

The main character was so in tuned with the storyline. How he progressed made me feel like I was playing in the Land itself.

it's midnight I have work tomorrow, but screw it I'm starting the next book now.

Thank you so much for creating the world of Land Aleron Kong.

If you could sum up The Land: Founding: A LitRPG Saga in three words, what would they be?

Aleron does a fantastic job bringing together gaming with reading, full of action and wonderful detail throughout - could easily see this recreated as a movie. Can't wait to read book two.
