Publisher's Summary

In life I was a scientist called Fanning. Then, in a jungle in Bolivia, I died. I died, and then I was brought back to life....

Prompted by a voice that lives in her blood, the fearsome warrior known as Alicia of Blades is drawn towards one of the great cities of The Time Before. The ruined city of New York. Ruined but not empty. For this is the final refuge of Zero, the first and last of The Twelve. The one who must be destroyed if mankind is to have a future.

What she finds is not what she's expecting. A journey into the past. To find out how it all began. And an opponent at once deadlier and more human than she could ever have imagined.

The publishing phenomenon that began with the astonishing worldwide best seller The Passage now comes to its epic conclusion.

Dreadful epilogue - don't listen

An excellent conclusion to the vast trilogy. This was spoilt, ruinously, by the epilogue.
Just accept it as a bad idea and stop listening there... honestly.
The story unfolds and brought laughter and tears in equal measure.
Now what can I look forward to? I miss the characters.

Jarring change but eventually brilliant

I really struggled with this third book. It is a book of two halves and the first half takes us on a wayward tangent that I want expecting. It was frustrating as I had waited for this book to be released and now it wasn't telling what happens next. Instead of went back in time.

The story as at know it returns in the second half of the book and Cronin does this it all together in the end. However, I felt the back story was too long and could have been handled in a less jarring manner.

Having said that, this is a brilliant ending to the story. Moving and emotional. Well worth struggling through the first half of the book.

fantastic, again, totally engrossing.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. A brilliantly engrossing workcovering over a thousand years, but never boring. Manages to draw you into this world, and keeps you wanting more. I didn't want to get to the end.

Stunning book.. perfectly narrated!

I re-read The Passage and The Twelve before reading this so it has been an epic journey and ALOT of pleasurable hours of listening.

The story, the writing, the narration all adds up to a collection of books that go down as my favourites of all time. If you like to get stuck into a book and it's world and enjoy falling in love with great characters and follow them through the highs and lows then these books are for you! I can't recommend them enough!

I feel a little bereft now I have finished. My next audio or otherwise book is going to have a lot to live up to!!

Amazing story

Like all the books in this trilogy they just suck you right in. The passage was my introduction to audible books. I've now listened to this series 3 times. The way Justin describes the details are amazing and Scott's voices are mesmerising. You really feel like you're there with them on this epic journey. You feel the highs and the lows, way better than any film. Thank you Justin and Scott for this experience.

Oh my god!!

What a story! All three books so many hours listening every second worth my time. Beautifully written. Superbly narrated. I loved every character all of them made the story what it is. Amy, Peter, Lish, Sarah, Hollis, Micheal even soldier! I worried for them all. Amazing I was gutted when the last book ended. I will listen to them again some day and look forward to the adventure.

I'd recommend this 100% it's a truly amazing listen. I hope it's made into a film and that the actors can do it justice.

Just Wow

I have read the first 2 instalments in written form, however i decided to try out the final book on audible. Unsure how i would take to audible as an avid reader,i gave it a try. For 3 days i was attached night and day to this book! it was a journey of pure excitement, obsession and joy. I am devastated that its finished. the performance was pure literary entertainmemt. i will find it hard to replace. bravo

Perfect end to an incredible journey

City of Mirrors, the long awaited end to an epic and wonderful trilogy, preceded by The Passage and The Twelve, is as rich, detailed and emotionally satisfying as its predecessors, and completes the set perfectly. The central characters all finish the story arc so well, with enough time given to each of their stories. Scott Brick reads so well - not a single character, note or emotion out of place - his Fanning is so spooky I found it scary to listen to at night! I'm not giving out any spoilers, just wanted to say this is beautifully written, beautifully read, and leaves us much to think about. Bravo!

Really deep and engaging story

Considering the weight of this epic I felt like it kept me engaged the whole way through. Really connected with the complex characters and enjoyed the unexpected turns.
A good series for those who enjoy undercurrents and don't mind a rambling digression here and there.

Highly Recommend this series!

Loved The Passage Trilogy. A really interesting spin on themes which are extremely popular in publishing and tv/movies atm. The first book was my favourite, but all three work well together and round out the story to a satisfying conclusion.

Like a movie script

Some trademark luscious description and emotional moments but too many contrived cliffhangers. At times there were 4 or 5 desperate situations happening at once. And given that they all know the virals are susceptible to fire and water, why persist with bullets and knives? Seems like the sub-editors got hold of this one and demanded more action and desperate situations!

Scary vampire voice

I loved this series so am very biased towards this book. I especially enjoyed listening to Scott Bricks scary vampire voice while driving late at night through rural Australia.... Although at the time it was actually kind of terrifying :-)
Would recommend to anyone who has read/ listened to the other books in the series. I wouldn't recommend this book unless you have read the previous books... The story would still make sense but it wouldn't be as good.
