Simply beautiful

Deep dive into the journey of grief and standing up again. Great writing. No dramatic storyline, rather a detailed and emotional character study. Through the pain of Abel, I felt the deep warmth and human connection. Simply beautiful.

so many tears!!!

This book WILL make you cry! It picks up 6 months after Landon’s passing. Abel is just trying to get through each day. He turns to alcohol to try and get his brain to slow down. This is a heart wrenching story that had me crying for the first half of the book but it does end with Abel finding peace and happiness
Adam Gold does an amazing job narrating this story. His portrayal of Abel is heartbreaking. He really put a lot a feeling into the narration of this story!!!

Talk about a tear jerker!

This book will rip your heart out and then put it back together piece by piece ❤️ Abel's journey is a struggle with grief and you feel it especially after listening to Landon and Abel's story. Just be warned it hurts!! But it's worth it!

Wow ... just wow

You MUST read “No Regrets.” First

I’ve never cried at the beginning of a book before, but I was a total wreck the first 5 to 6 chapters of this book. I’d just finished No Regrets a few days before, and wasn’t certain how this book would begin, but No Regrets was so good, I looked forward to diving into this title.

I must rate these two as volume 1 and volume 2. In my opinion, neither could stand without the other.

The writing is phenomenal, and the story is a fitting continuation and end to No Regrets. I highly recommend this title! But, as stated, you really must read No Regrets first to truly appreciate the plot and character development Nicky James brings to the table. My only regret is that additional titles in the series aren’t developed as audiobooks. After having read “Love Me Whole,” “No Regrets,” and “Abel’s Journey,” I would like to have seen more of the books in the series produced for audio.

New Beginnings

Ahh this book, I am glad we didn’t have to be present for the death. This was more the aftermath. It was powerful and emotional. Grief is personal to everyone and it affects us all in a different way. No one griefs the same.

The downward spiral Abel finds himself in really is hard to listen to sometimes because you want him to be ok and he isn’t he is trying so hard but he just isn’t ok.

The counselor sees through some of the stuff Abel hinds and he really means well but I don’t think he understood just how deep into despair Abel was. The friendship he finds with Kieran I completely believe was through the hands of Landon because Able needed someone who understood and Kieran needed someone who understood.

The way it happens is organic and meant to be it never felt forced and for that I am thankful.

The narration is really great but again Michigan accent sounding Boston not going to lie that threw me a LOT. But I loved his Kieran voice so it evens out.
