Publisher's Summary

Kane & Abel for a new generation!!

They had only one thing in common - William Lowell Kane and Abel Rosnovski, one the son of a Boston millionaire, the other a penniless Polish immigrant. Two men born on the same day on opposite sides of the world, their paths were destined to cross in the ruthless struggle to build a fortune.

The marvellous story, spanning 60 years, of two powerful men linked by an all-consuming hatred, brought together by fate to save - and finally destroy - each other.

    "Beginning of an Epic story"

Captivating from beginning to end. I'm going straight into the next book in the series.

The two main characters are very much a rags and riches pair and seeing how their lives converge from such drastically different backgrounds is sometimes frustrating, always interesting and considering the book is over 30 years old being a period setting it has not she's at all.

The narrator is very good with different voices for each character, the only downside for me is that William Kane sounds like Mayor Quimby from The Simpsons, I got over it fairly quickly though!

    "Can't put it down"

I have become an avid Jeffrey Archer fan.

This book is just over 19 hours long, I have been unable to put it down. In just two days I have listened to the entire book.
I am eagerly await thing my next credit so I can listen to the next in the series (the Prodigal daughter)

Jefferies key strength in writing books is his ability to write a novel spread over decades as The characters develop and age so does the plot. If you like the Clifton Chronicles, prisoner from birth et cetera then you will love the Kane and Able books...

An entertaining story that is somewhat predictable. It's well read and engaging nonetheless. It's not a memorable story but is worth listening to.
