Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author Nalini Singh is back in the shadows of a deadly, beautiful world where angels rule, vampires serve, and one female hunter must crawl out of the darkness to survive....

The severed head marked by a distinctive tattoo on its cheek should have been a Guild case, but dark instincts honed over hundreds of years of life compel the vampire Dmitri to take control. There is something twisted about this death, something that whispers of centuries long past...but Dmitri's need to discover the truth is nothing to the vicious strength of his response to the hunter assigned to decipher the tattoo.

Savaged in a brutal attack that almost killed her, Honor is nowhere near ready to come face to face with the seductive vampire who is an archangel's right hand and who wears his cruelty as boldly as his lethal sensuality...the same vampire who has been her secret obsession since the day she was old enough to understand the inexplicable, violent emotions he aroused in her.

As desire turns into a dangerous compulsion that might destroy them both, it becomes clear the past will not stay buried. Something is hunting, and it will not stop until it brings a blood-soaked nightmare to life once more....

Beautiful story!

I’ve slowly become addicted to the Guild Hunter series, but this is for me, by far, the most compelling, beautiful love story.
Definitely shadows Raphel and Elena’s 😂

Loved it

I have to admit that whilst I loved Honour from the beginning, Dmitri took a long time to grow on me. He was a jerk for the longest time. Hearing more about his back story softened me to him though and I ended up loving him. So much so I'm actually going to listen to it again before I listen to the next book.

The narrator, as usual, was flawless. I just love her tone and the way she narrates is perfect. Especially male voices. She's fantastic. I couldn't read it better myself.

Surprised

The end was a surprise to me I never saw it coming which happens with the best books and there is no better series then this one.

more violent and sexist than others in series

still a good listen. some touching moments. But seems to be very ok with domestic violence, a bit disempowering to women in areas. Dimitri is a more violent character than the others but it doesn't excuse some of the destructive, indirect msgs.

Nothing happened!

I've liked this series so far, but,..... no 4 is a total waste of time and money.
How many ways can one problem be presented? This book is just awful. Justine Eyre is mournful and wining all thru. Quality so poor I had to raise the volume a lot which considering some of the scenes, was a worry for any flapping ears. After 1000 plus books, I vote this the worst.
